WIW - New Stitch Fix items - YouLookFab Forum

My sister gave me a gift certificate to Stitch Fix for my birthday last fall. I think it's fun but I only have it send me a box every few months. Here are some recent acquisitions.

#1 - Blush pants. I actually have a similar pair that are a cooler color. However, they were a hand-me-down from my sister and never fit quite right (she's 4" shorter than me so the length was weird - too long for crops, too short for full-length pants). I decided to keep this pair from Stitch Fix and I'll chop the other pair into shorts.

#2 - The striped top is navy, grey and white and is new from Stitch Fix. It's a tank with a cute detail on the shoulders that's covered up by my blazer.

#3/4/5 - New striped dress is also from Stitch Fix. I liked the fun bow on the back. The faded red stripe reminded me of the recent thread on Nantucket Red.

#6 - The navy top and necklace is new from Stitch Fix. The white linen skirt was thrifted years ago.

I think these all look good on you. I really the navy top in 6 and the tee shirt dress. The bow is unexpected but in a good way.

Missing Domino :(. I like all these outfits. The dress would look good over skinny crops/jeans in white, blue or red. The bow works with your hair.

Oh! This is very interesting. I have a friend that just enrolled in Stitch Fix. Like you, she is only ordering every few months. She is really happy with them so far.

How do they know what to send? I love the first outfit. It's my favorite. The dress is okay. I think it fits what I have seen of your aesthetic. The bow is a fun detail and makes it worth keeping, otherwise I would say it isn't really special, and you have plenty of options that look similar.

Wow - lots of questions! Stitch Fix is a service that sends you a box of five clothing items. It's not a subscription service - you pay for the items you like and send the others back. If you keep the whole box, you get a discount though. I filled out the style profile and they will also review your Pinterest board, if you have one (I don't ), to get a better idea of your style. You can also write a note to your stylist if you have specific needs. For example, I met a women who had just bought a pair of silver oxfords and she asked for stuff to go with her new shoes. It's fun to get a surprise box of clothes in the mail.

I've had good luck with them nailing my style, but I had to ask for a different stylist after the first 2 or 3 boxes. She just played it too safe - it was all stuff I already had - skinny jeans, cardigans, black pants, a plaid scarf. Stuff like that - my style but also very safe. My sister also does it and she always gets super cute stuff - shoes, dresses, skirts, jewelry, etc. So I asked for a different stylist, told them to stop sending me denim, and I've loved the last couple boxes. I've had good luck with items fitting me but they'll exchange sizes for free.

I'm not sure why Domino isn't in any of these pictures. I'm sure she's close by.

Deborah - I did Birchbox for a few months. Also a birthday gift from my sister. It was fun but I started to get overwhelmed with samples eventually. It's been a year since I quit and I'm still going through sample bottles. I found some great products through them.

I've been tempted to use Stitch Fix but not sure what I'll get considering I'm petite. Some of the young millenials in my office have used this and seem to like it.

How fun! I really like #2 and #3 the most - love the nautical tone to that striped dress.

Thanks for explaining. I think I would find that too many clothes for my current situation and it is probably entrusting the decision to someone else too much for me. But if they "get" you, and the price is right and you're busy, I can see the appeal.
