Some may call these shorts culottes. They are pleated, but the pleats are shallow and sew down quite a bit. The top is new and I thought the stripes, though horizontal, are relatively flattering because they are broken up by the print, and because the back of the top is black and wraps around to the front at the hip.
Sorry my top is hitched up a little - I have to wear camisoles under everything these days (coverage for breastfeeding) and sometimes my tops stick to them.
This outfit is another summer outfit in line with my slouch strategy. (-:
I'm kind of wondering if I should hem these up to mid-thigh? Maybe also have a cuff added for weight at the bottom? I might also need to wear a sleeveless top with this to add a bit more structure.
