Spring has finally arrived and I was able to go out without a winter coat for the first time this weekend. I met up with a friend for brunch and broke out my new Danier white leather moto jacket. I've never bought anything from Danier before, but I see what others here have been raving about - I'm quite pleased with the quality and fit. Now I just need to get over my paranoia about getting it dirty! Does anyone have tips for keeping light colored leather clean?

The rest of the outfit is pretty casual - tee, jeans, boat shoes. The second picture is just to try to show the details of the jacket a little better. Thoughts and feedback are welcome!

Dee, welcome to the Danier club!!! But I must warn you, the first jacket is like a gateway drug. You never know what it might lead to....just look at Sveta if you want an example. Or Shannon. Or me.... <blushing face>

I got a white leather moto from Danier early last spring. I wore it quite a lot last spring and fall, seldom through the winter, and I've started breaking it out again in the last week or two. And it's not dirty at all. So far, dirt just hasn't been a problem with it. If you treat it with that stuff they give you, it just doesn't seem to get marked up very badly. Or at least that is what I have found. Sveta and Inge and Vicki have the same jacket I do, and I'll bet they would say the same. Shannon also has a white Danier jacket, as does Elizabeth P.

So really, my main tip is don't worry too much about it. Obviously, I wouldn't wear it while gardening, cooking, or changing my car's oil, but it's pretty easy to wear otherwise.

Suz, I can totally see how this could be a problem. Especially when I already have a weakness for coats and jackets. I'm glad to hear yours is holding up well. I bought their kit and am trying to follow the proper care instructions, so fingers crossed! Of course, I managed to drip on it already, but it seems to have emerged unscathed. And thanks for mentioning who else owns one - I remember seeing Sveta's and Shannon's - I'll have to go back through yours and everyone else's posts to see them styled!

Danier. The Canadian's Revenge. Sort of makes up for all those north-of-the-border shipping charges.

Happy new jacket. It looks great on you. I think Suz is right- between the quality, variety and price point, Danier is a very real temptation. I look forward to checking them out next trip to Canada.

I've got a pale beige Danier and find that it holds up really well. I gave it an extra spray around the collar and cuffs because that's where it would show the dirt most. I also try to wear it with a scarf but that's not always possible.

Oh yay, another Danier convert! That is an awesome jacket. Add me to the list of the fallen, I just bought my fourth one a few weeks ago. Actually make that fifth, I have a blazer style outdoor one from 10-15 years ago that is still going strong.

As Suz said,I also have a white one. I probably haven't worn it as much as Suz has, but I have worn it a lot. And I've been remiss on the treating thing... oops, MUST do that before I haul it out this spring. But despite that, it's doing well. My sleeves were a little dirty, but that was solved by getting them shortened, LOL. The sales person suggested using a white MARS eraser on dirt, using gentle strokes.

And that's funny Beth Ann. Not sure it really makes up for all those charges, but it is nice to have one little jewel.

Missvee, I hadn't thought about giving it a second spray around the collar/cuffs. I will definitely go do that today.

Elizabeth, glad to hear yours (all of them, actually) are doing well! I'll keep the eraser in mind for big issues.

Another Danier leather owner here, I have 3 jackets and 1 black blazer. The jackets are turquoise, fuchsia and white. I try not to be too precious about them, they are not meant to look pristine so that helps. I agree with the others, if you're following the stores advice on prep and ongoing care, you'll be fine.
I really like this outfit on you. The jacket does elevate it while still looking cohesive. I need to start wearing mine more for casual. Thanks for the idea!

Dee, it's so beautiful. YLF! My only suggestion is to refrain from reading the newspaper while wearing it. We have a white leather bench in our living room, and my husband seems to think it's a great landing place for the paper. Needless to say I'm forever cleaning off grey splotches.
