Not the greatest photos, but a few recent WIWs with my new jeans - not a skinny in sight; a big change that feels fresh and comfy - amazing how a small change makes a big difference!

I did end up sizing up the dark straight jeans by one size and they are now just right.

What about #3 works so well do we think - I think maybe the jacket gives it that 'finished' look vs. the others? Or perhaps the contrast? (but #2 has contrast). Wondering what I can take from that combination and apply to other combinations. x

I think people like #3 because of the third piece impact. Adding a scarf to #
1 or a vest to #2 would likely have similar impact.

These are great- you wear jeans so well! I like #3 most too!

You've certainly shown how versatile jeans can be from the super casual through to smart casual. All great outfits but I think number 3 is a favourite because tucked shirt and belt gives it definition but the jacket adds a smart touch and with the darker shoes, gives a longer column so your legs look really long. I might try and copy it myself as I like wearing jeans but like to dress them up.

Great jeans! More love for #3 - and, yes, it’s probably the ‘rule of 3’/completer piece styling trick that makes it work.

I think Cat2 & Carla got it right—people around here really like toppers. The other factors Sally mentioned come into play too, but the jacket grabs peoples attention.

These look fantastic. I do think the jacket in #3 makes it feel more like an "outfit," but transitional weather means that a third piece isn't always practical and I think you're quite good at making simple outfits like #1 look polished and complete. Also, the jeans fit perfectly, which is an accomplishment in itself.
