WIW - new flats and denim jacket

So here's what I'm wearing today. I had to fold the sleeves of the jacket because scrunching them didn't work and they aren't shortened yet, but I'm not quite satisfied with the way it looks. Not sure what to do about it though. The tights look more opaque than they are IRL.

I met my mum at the train station and we had lunch together, so that I could take her suitcase back to my flat. That way she didn't have to take it with her to her work meeting. We're going home tomorrow.

What do you think? Do you like it?

I love that outfit Astrid! Is that a skirt or a dress you're wearing? I'm really drawn to florals on a black background lately.You look absolutely lovely in your new flats and denim jacket. Thanks Claire! It's a dress, the one below. I really love this one too, the flowers on the black are gorgeous I think. My mum bought this dress when she was seventeen and on holiday in Portugal, btw. I just had it shortened a bit and changed the sleeves. And I think I finally know in what direction I see my style going and I think this shows in my pictures.

I think this outfit works perfectly Astrid! The denim jacket fits you beautifully and the sleeves are fine cuffed (sometimes the bunching just doesn't work!). I like how the lighter denim pulls the blue flower out of the floral pattern on your skirt. And the new flats are fab on you. I love your style!

Thanks Sarah! It's a men's watch from Citizen. I had to look for a few weeks until I found the perfect one, but now I love it! I wear it every day. My old avatar was the one I used when I joined YLF and it was a bit out of date, so I thought I needed a change. When I saw the close up pictures I took I changed it.

Thanks Manidipa! I'm so happy that my outfits seem to be cohesive lately. And looking the way I want them to look! I also think that this touch of whimsy you mention is something I really want in my outfits.

Looks good! I like the pattern mixing with the tights (much more interesting than plain black) and the new jacket looks really nice over it all.

For the sleeves, after much experimenting what worked best for me was a combination of AJ/Rae's and Angie's methods. (Do the AJ/Rae thing first, then flip the cuff down a la Angie). It looks great, is not too bulky, and is super secure.
