WIW - New dress, new hair - YouLookFab Forum

I picked up this striped dress from Old Navy. I've never had a dress from them fit before but I think this one looks pretty good. Please let me know though if you disagree because I can still send it back. The waist is slightly off - my natural waist is about 1/2 inch lower than the seam on the dress, but I'm built pretty staight so I thought it still looked okay.

I got some highlights for the summer and slightly changed my hair cut. It's a little shorter and little choppier. I'm not sure about the highlights since they came out lighter than I was anticipating when I discussed it with my stylist. This is my first attempt on styling it. I don't have pictures of it this weekend before I watched a soccer game in 40 mile per hour winds (spring in NM is not fun), but I think this is fairly similar to how my stylist did it.

I think those dresses are designed to sit a little above the natural waist. At least that's what I tell myself, as mine all hit at that spot I think the dress looks good, it's perfect for summer.

40 mph winds?! Now that's a blustery day! Your hair looks great. I like the lighter highlights.

Your hair looks great with the choppy layers. It's tough to say about the highlights, but you can always adjust them a bit the next time -- it's a pretty easy fix. Plus, sometimes they settle a bit after a few days.

Fun hair!! I think the dress looks nice. I have been somewhat pleasantly surprised by some of Old navy's quality lately. Much better than what I had expected.

What a great find with the ON dress - it looks fantastic on you. I like how it accentuates your slim waistline - yet it's not 'overly dressy' So cute with the footwear.
Highlights really brighten up your hair - I think you'll find that as you spend more time outside (yes the good weather is coming!) your natural hair will also lighten and really blend beautifully together.

Great dress on you! I love it with casual sneakers, has that great California summer casual feeling. I think the waist line is perfect on you! It looks like it hits your true waistline, which is higher than "jeans waistline" and usually the smallest part of a woman's torso. You are also gorgeous in that blouse color and neckline!!

Fab cut and highlights. Highlights always feel drastic at first. But the rest of your hair will blend as it lightens in the summer sun.

Those spring winds sounds miserable. I live 10 min from RMNP, in CO. We get high constant winds in March and April, usually 40+ mph.

Love the hair! If the highlights don't please you, you can ask for a few low lights next time, or a semi permanent or gloss over the top of them.

I think that is same ON dress I bought last month, have not yet worn it myself. I got a petite -- is yours a petite? Yours looks much better on you than on me! I also adore that top in pic 2. Flattering color and neckline.

As for the hair & highlights, I love it!!! Give the highlights some time to settle in, and for you to get used to them. I always refrain from judging color until a week has passed, because either I adjust, or the color does. In the meantime, trust us... hair looks great!

Shiny - the dress is a regular, not petite. I'm 5'6" so too tall to wear petites.

Thanks for the advice on the highlights. . Maybe it's just the shock of my hair looking different and I need to get used to it.

I always think some lighter highlights in the summer is a good idea...like the sun did all the work.

Love the fun stripes on the dress and tennis shoe casual look, and easily dressed up with a sandal etc. You look fab in both looks!!
