WIW - new clothes and no scarf!

I am debuting both the white sweater and the grey corduroy skirt today. They were not part of my planned outfits, but I couldn't wait. ;o)

No scarf, because the cowl collar is practically a scarf on its own. I can't see any way of adding a scarf without adding clutter. I did want a bit of colour up higher, so I hauled out my fuchsia earrings to go with the fuchsia belt. I haven't worn these earrings in years, and I am wondering if they look timeless, vintage, or dated.

I am also wondering about the footless tights. Do they work here? Would ordinary tights work better? In black or grey? Not doing the red tights with fuchsia, sorry.

I didn't photograph it, but I am wearing my black knit jacket for warmth. Colour-wise, I do find that it provides a balance for the black legs.

If I go out, I will be wearing my black riding boots with this.

You look wonderful. The new sweater and skirt really showcase you tiny waist, and your slim figure. White is such a good color on you, as always, and the pop of color is just the ticket!

I didn't really "need" this sweater, but I didn't have a white one, nor a cowl neck. It kept niggling away at my mind, so when it went on half-price, I jumped. :o) I find myself reaching for white tops a lot. They never ever get to the front of my closet (for those who know my system). So I expect this is one piece that will more than justify its purchase over time. I always liked white, and YLF has helped me understand why.

I might sound different from the others, but you look rather cute in thos outfit. The red studs are fun and add a pop of colour.

I'm surprising myself my liking the footless tights with the skirt and sweater combo. I think it works. And your boots will work well too.

I'm an idiot when it comes to earrings so can't offer anything useful there.

The sweater/skirt/ belt/earring combo is terrific. I would like it a lot with boots. My own feet happen to be FREEZING today so just looking at you in those footless tights has me anxious, but that is not a fashion comment.

I like this combo with the pops of color from the belt and earrings. The belt looks loose to me but maybe it's just something about the picture angle. The footless tights look fine with the flats and I'm sure the outfit will look good with boots too (warmer anyway).

Very nice! You're right. I think a scarf would be be a bit much with the cowl neck.

Suz, I added sheer knee-highs pretty quickly.

Sara, the belt is loose, quite deliberately. It's on the last hole, but when I wear skinny belts around my waist without some slouch, I look like a sack of potatoes. I'm just too high- and straight-waisted for it to work. I either have to slouch my skinny belts, or wear wider ones. And today I wanted fuchsia. I also like how the knot gives the belt a bit more presence, very subtly, and gives the colour a bit more punch.

Kristin, I'm going to have to figure out how to wrap a scarf around or over that cowl for going out. That will just be under my coat, so it won't matter how it looks. I just like my neck to be cozy. And seeing as an urgent and unexpected errand has imposed itself on me, going out is going to happen.

BTW, the spot on my tummy is water. I somehow managed to get a brown ring on the sweater within minutes of putting it on, and it had to be sponged out. But pics have to be taken fairly early in the day, to catch the light in my room, so I couldn't wait for it to dry. Those who know me well are familiar with my unerring ability to spill on myself, stumble over things, drop things... In short, I'm a klutz.

Love this outfit. I tried on this sweater as well, and while I didn't buy, I'm thinking of going back to get it. It seems so versatile and the cowl neck is just gorgeous! I like the skirt and tights as well - JR, you are rocking it out these days!

You look awesome, love the earrings. I usually am not a fan of low vamped footwear with big sweaters....seasonal confusion and all, but this works to my eye. The cowl certainly brings attention up to your face. Love it!

I'm so glad you finally got yourself a fab new white sweater JR. I really like it on you and won't be nearly as hard to keep clean as that fab white coat you sport.

The cord skirt looks good too, comfy and cozy too as cord tends to be so.

You made me put on another layer just looking at you in footless tights...vrrrr.

I love this and think you are right that no scar f is necessary. I like the tights and flats but prefer that in spring or early fall myself,,,, Boots would work well if you are cold...
