WIW - neutrals, plus style descriptor needed?

So my style goals for this year are to refine and tone down my style. This means a smaller but higher-quality wardrobe, fewer accessories, pops of color rather than mixing colors, etc.

Today I grabbed this jersey tunic dress (sold as a dress, but I'm 5'2" and wearing it with leggings here). It doesn't photograph as nice as it looks, but it drapes really well in real life, which I like. Added the necklace (seen in my last WIW) to give it a bit of structure. And I was excited to wear regular boots rather than winter boots for a change.

I really liked this outfit and would like to develop more style more in this direction. I'm trying to pinpoint what about this outfit really worked for me, so I was wondering how you would describe it? I've got neutral/minimal but not boring.

And for fun, here is a bonus pick with outwear, inspired by the olive and pink post awhile back. It was warm enough for my olive wool peacoat rather than my usual down one today. I usually only wear this coat with a black scarf but instead I added this rose colored cowl I knit recently and really liked the combination! I will definitely be wearing this pairing again.

I don't know a good descriptor, I'm drawn to the same style too, neutral colors, drapey/long tops, leggings and boots that are a little tougher.

I like the necklace with the sweater, and the peacoat/scarf/beanie combo is really cute.

Hmm. Neutral and strong neutraks( you can wear black!).
Minimal or simple but with some simple accessories. The texture adds interest. In th photo the tunic reads as a more substantial knit which looks more refined and luxurious.

I see some urban warrior with those boots ... not a princess though, maybe sleek urban warrior? Unless the boots are just about the weather and not your style at all, then never mind ...

First, it's a very flattering outfit on you & your outwear is so cute!

Now, for words. I like the idea of urban as Emily suggested. There's a boldness to the look too and an element of simplicity, straightforwardness. Neat lines, no fussiness. And a modern look for sure. The boots & sweater texture have a bit of a sturdy feel to them as well, but that could be encompassed in bold.

Don't know if any of that will be of help! Bold modern (or urban?) simplicity maybe?

Thanks for the comments ladies! For years my stles was somewhere between girly and ALGO, but I'm just not feeling that as much lately, so I'm excited to explore new options.

Emily and a few others suggested urban or a bit of edge, which sounds really good to me. And I like E's suggestion of neat lines and modern.
Unfrumped, thanks for your comment on wearing black. I never used to wear black at all (stuck to grey) but I find myself being drawn to it more and more. Now I just need to figure out how to style it with what's in my closet.
MuseumGal, I love those boots in general. Just didn't get to wear them much this winter!
