WIW - My Faire Isle

It's frigid out today and I'm not used to dressing this way. Layers are key so I ended up wearing a long sleeve wicking top underneath a 3/4 sleeve Faire Isle Anthropologie tunic sweater, plus my INC. skinnies, and heeled boots (to elongate me). Even though the blue sleeves stick out of my sweater, for some reason it doesn't bother me.

I love that sweater -- that's a Fair Isle style I can get behind. Although I'm learning that 3/4 sleeves always bug me because they scrunch up inside my coat sleeves and annoy me.

I like the blue sleeves actually.

i've been layering like mad! (and i'm sick of wearing tights under my pants, but really its the only way to stay warm). anyway, love this fair isle, and the touch of color is unexpected and quite nice. stay warm. its supposed to be a heat wave here on Sat---37F!

Oh, you look lovely in your Fair Isle. Great outfit, and I love those perfectly-fitting boots. The blue sleeves sticking out don't bother me either, and they will help to keep your hands warm in those freezing temps

Janet - the sleeves on the sweater are a bit snugger than usual so it won't ride up at all.

Kkards - I'll trade your 37 degrees for our 17 degrees here. DC is normally in the 40s this time of year so this isn't normal.

Rachylou - I have to change it up once in a while. Can't always be in my retro mood.

Yes, the weather has been rather chilly lately. I am all about the layering right now. The bright blue is very fun peeking out in this look.

This looks terrific. Normally, I don't like 3/4 sleeves or fair isles, but that touch of bright blue and your striking coloring really make the look.

I love this style - I did grow up in Boston in the early 80s when these were all the rage. But I always feel a little inauthentic in them somehow. You look amazing and that's a great version of a FI sweater!

You are making me rethink the fair isle sweater. I wasn't that tempted by them when Angie brought them up recently, but I find this one really pretty on you. I also like the layered sleeves; I'm partial to it and wear my 3/4 sleeves that way quite often. Your sleek jeans and boots are just perfect with the layered tops, too.

This fair aisle is fresh and relaxed, CG, and the layering works and it's definitely different than the preppy versions I work back in the 80's!

I don't thunk I ever owned a faire isle sweater back in the 80s, but it liked this version because it's slightly a-lined and not boxy. Thanks everyone for your replies.
