I apologize again for the dull colours. It is a dull day, and the light is bad. I would love to be able to show off the muted, and yet very rich, colours of the pashmina. DH brought it home for me from Rome, and I absolutely loved it. The threads are gold, burgundy, brown, and black, and they combine in subtle and fascinating ways in the weave. The topper is a vintage, dark-brown knit jacket from my MIL which I am finding very hard to style. This is the first outfit I've found that makes it wearable. DD confirmed my fears that it was very old-ladyish, and that the only way I would get away with wearing it was by combining it with jeans, to make it clear I was wearing it "ironically" and not because I didn't realize fashion had moved on.

So here it is with my rust skinnies. Ironic that it takes rust to achieve irony... And the not-so-loved mustard T-shirt, which I am stubbornly determined to get a last season out of. I've actually received compliments on the colour, but that was obviously from a mustard-lover. I'm moving the colour away from my face with the pashmina, of course. It's still frigid around here, so the pashmina is not just for vanity. Other than the fact that dull mustard is not my best colour, I do like it with the rust.

I have set myself a personal challenge of not re-wearing the same outfit within a month. November was a success, and I'll stretch the variety out as long as I can without getting ridiculous, i.e. wearing some horrible combination just to avoid a repeat.
