...not like "dress up" week but like "wearing dresses" week
I wore dresses 4 days out of 5 - I guess I was on the rebellious streak at work (as you know most of my co-workers are men in baggy jeans and golf shirts)
pic 1: Looking at this picture I began to think that maybe it is time to retire this striped dress. Does it look too "juvenile" on 44-year old me?
grey striped A-line dress my Mom), silk red-purple button down (BR), Franco Sarto grey tall boots
pic 2: I had bad idea to wash these grey Martin skinnies last year even though the label says "dry clean". The first wash was OK but they shrunk a bit after the second wash. Now I only feel comfortable wearing them with tunics Now looking at the picture I wonder if I have too many colors going on: black, cobalt, white, tan, grey... What do you think?
Martin grey skinny trousers (BR), cobalt blue - black color blocked tunic (Michael Kors), David Tate animal booties, polka don black and white silk scarf from Paris
pic 3: another attempt to wear the red dress. Angie inspired me to use white button down ta add another dimensions to my outfits and I tried it here too. I liked how it turned out...until I undressed in the evening: red dye came off to the white shirt under arms - and I was not even sweating. The quality of this dress's fabric is not that great, I think I will retire it soon even though I adore the color. Now I have to look for a new white shirt as this one can be worn layered only now
red mod dress (my Mom), faded black leans (Gap), white shirt (Tahari), old Clarks tallboots in tan.
pic 4. This was a business casual day at work so I decided to wear my polka dot dress and blazer. This turned up as a pretty conservative outfit I think but I am OK with it. Actually I wear this type of outfits so seldom that they feel fresh to my eye
black and white polka dot dress (Jones New York), black blazer (thrifted), red patent pumps (Mee Too), necklace from a local boutique)
pic 5: I bought this scarf from a street vendor in Paris and decided to build an outfit around it. To continue black and kelly green theme I selected my black sequin top which I layered over a thin merino wool long sleeve tee.
Paige Hidden Hills bootcuts, sequin black top (Winners), grey flat oxfords (Trouve)
I found that I am drawn to skinnies less than before. They were my go-to uniform since I joined YLF 2 years ago and believed Angie that a pearish bottom like mine can still wear skinnies. I still think they are a great winter staple for me when tucked into tall boots and worn with a tunic length top but when I am not wearing boots I drift towards flares, bootcuts and wide leg trousers. Somehow tight fitting tights are not appealing to me anymore. Maybe I am getting older and frumpier? Or maybe I just need a change?
Thanks for looking and hope you have a great weekend!
