It is still warm here, and I am finding dresses to be my best option these days. Wish I could manage some high quality pictures
#1 is what I wore to a Bat Mitzvah service and luncheon yesterday. The dress is Nanette Lepore and the shoes are Delman, both deep discount finds. I think it may be time to retire the shoes because of the height of the heels. The Bat Mitzvah wore a blush pink crepe dress with an empire waist and trumpet hem, a white silk tallit (prayer shawl) and sparkly kipot (head covering). She was totally at ease in front of about 250 attendees - truly a superstar!
# 2 is what I wore to see the Oscar-nominated short films at a local theater. They were incredible - if you have a chance to see them, I highly recommend. Fashion-related note: one of the films starred Jane Birkin (of Hermes bag fame) - delightful! This dress is Madewell and the sandals are BZ Moda. I bought the frayed hem denim dress intending to pass it on to one of my daughters once it frays itself shorter. Until then, I will keep it neat by trimming the white threads. I am thinking I might prefer a more casual shoe with the dress - maybe birkenstocks when it gets warmer or slip-on sneakers?
