WIW - monday matchy matchy

My Monday look for relaxed day at work (attending training this week). Shoes and sweater are exact same color, color in finds is not accurate.
Thinking of getting handbag in the same color (included in finds) but not sure if that would be too matchy? I know Angie blogged about having scarf/shoes/handbag set in non neutral color and I am intrigued. Can this be mine? What do you think?

What an amazing look, Anchie. Each individual piece is gorgeous on its own, and together they absolutely rock. Loving the blues with the reds together!
I could absolutely see this with a red handbag. And that fab bag would work with many other outfits in your wardrobe too, I bet;-)

Great outfit, esp. love the shoes, and this shade of red with the navy pants. And, thus would like to own that red bag, too, think I would not wear it to this exact outfit- but that'"s only me. We all know maximal matchy-matchyness is on trend and several buddies on the forum make it work so perfectly even on common weekday:-).

I think this is a FANTASTIC outfit on you.You have inspired me to try the combo below.... perhaps with my navy leather jacket as a topper.

If the bag is the right colour red, I say go for it. I wouldn't' wear it with this particular outfit, but I think you might like to have the bag/shoes combo with some other pieces.

I'm very proud of myself for saying this. I tend to morph into too matchy matchy without intending to, and I've never liked the result. I have come to realize that two pieces is generally best.

Of course you can! But you don't need to.

In my opinion, it brings balance to an outfit when the colour of non-neutral shoes is repeated elsewhere, preferably near the face, as with the red blouse in your picture. So balance is already created, but if you like, you can wear a red bag in addition, and actually as many red items as you want to. That's up to you.

Fashion police may say one thing now and a different thing tomorrow. One day people are told to make sure that specific items are matching, the next day to go completely matchy-matchy, and the day after that to avoid matching items. However, trendy rules don't work for all people, and it would be very boring if we all obeyed them strictly. So feel free to experiment and find out what YOU prefer and what you feel comfortable wearing.

That being said, the red bag would be a great idea, whether worn with this outfit, OR with the red shoes as the only two red items in an outfit, OR as the only red item, OR with several other red items.

We have a tradition that I get hanbag for birthday every year, but usually I make selection and then provide a lot of not very subtle hints Hopefully it will not sell out in the next 2 months.

Jenni NZ - when we started this tradition I was not very specific but I learned my lesson. One year for example I said that I would like a yellow bag. I love bright citrusy lemon, but got a warm egg yolk colored one. Beautiful bag, but not my yellow and I still struggle how to wear it.

It's a very beautiful shade of red! And pretty on you. Also, I like your shoes and bag--those brands are new to me, so I just did a little internet sleuthing and I liked what I saw--thanks for the head's up about those brands.

WOW - this is a terrific outfit!! I love it - it flatters you amazingly well. And haha to Jenni - she's right, I think two pieces in a solid red are one thing, but a third might take you into flight attendant territory. I'd buy the red bag because it's such a great colour for you, and would wear it with just one other red piece . The blazer is awesome - I really want to replicate this somehow...

Love the outfit, love the bag. I personally like the idea of a white, gold or cognac bag with this outfit BUT the red would certainly be a fun matchy-matchy option. To me your bold red lipstick coupled with your light hair is what really makes this outfit sing ^^

Red with black or navy and white is so classic yet always fresh. Get the bag. You will love using it.
