Hello.

#1 and #2 - Seasonally Confused
I call this outfit seasonally confused because I have my summer capsule items (tank top, sandals, brown cotton gauze shirt) paired with my fall/winter capsule item (blackberry cords).

#3 and #4 - Pattern Mixing with Horses and Plaids
Paired my Rails horse blouse with a plaid Liverpool blazer for the office.

#5 and #6 - Peach Cropped Jeans and Ivory Half Zip
These peach jeans were a new addition to my spring wardrobe. I've been challenging myself to style them for fall. I've previously paired them with a floral blouse (photo #3 here) so this time I tried to lighten things up with ivory.

#7 - Shorts and Sandals
I often pair shorts and sandals with graphic tees so swapping the tee for a blouse was a nice change.

Maybe I wore cords with sandals in Johannesburg where the weather is moderate. Which explains why it works for you as I have gathered that your climate is that, correct me if I'm wrong. If it works in your weather why not!? The equestrian look is fun. Cool to change things up sometimes. Likewise with regard to your blouse and shorts combo. I really like it. I'm wearing shorts and a long sleeve blouse today actually. About your peach jeans. Have you tried them with a rust top before?

You may be seasonally confused but I love the color choices! It looks like a easy outfit that you take you from a cool morning to a warm afternoon by shedding a layer. The other outfits are just plain fantastic! The Liverpool jacket is perfection and I love the shorts with cream! You look great in shorts and I agree that swapping the tee for a blouse really elevates the look! Awesome all around!

Horses and plaids--hmm. I think that name has potential. It sounds like a great new preppy store along the lines of RL, Boden, etc. And of course, that is a fun combination to wear.
Love all this stuff--favorite might be the one you mentioned. You know, in the Southwest, where it is sometimes warm in winter, #1 and #2 would be excellent outfits for that.

I really, really love the shorts/blouse combo! It's so pretty and is an elevated look. The mauve cords are beautiful too - must be super versatile .

Nice outfits! I like how you visually go from casual and colorful to business appropriate and dark (but still fun with the pattern mix).

The office outfit is so sharp, Lisa. I love the pattern-mixing and the way the pumps pick up the cream in the shirt. Fantastic fit on everything, too. Outfits 5 and 7 are also stellar, polished casual looks. The first outfit is relaxed and fun; nice job of bringing the cords into play while it's still warm.

I like your strategies for mixing!

Lise - You are correct, I am in a more moderate year round climate. While we still get four seasons, the summers are hot and long, while the winters are short and more mild. Pairing sandals with corduroy's gives me a lot more use for that style of pant. I have not tried the peach jeans with rust yet, thanks for the suggestion!

kellygirl - I was also delighted my the colors choices (mint, brown, and raspberry) in outfit #1. It was fun and unexpected and the layers work really well for our transitional weather.

Angie - *happily collects killer ratings* Pattern mixing is something I've learned from YLF over the years. Pattern mixing for a work outfit is a nice way to add a bit of fun to a more classic outfit/setting. The ivory and peach outfit paired so well with the denim bag, indeed it was a fun an unexpected pairing!

Carol - I'd happily shop at someone named "horses and plaids," two of my favorite things to wear.

LJP - You're nailed why the shorts and blouse combo worked so well, indeed it IS an elevated look. The blackberry cords were a wildcard purchase last year and I've been pleased with how versatile the color is for outfits!

Jaime - This week my outfits were all over the place based on the days activities! It certainly kept me on my style toes!
