WIW - Miracle on 34th Street

Today my Mom, Brother, Husband and I all went out to see a Matinee of Miracle on 34th Street at the local theater. It was a great show! Folks seem to dress up for the Sunday Matinees (more than weekday evenings, for sure) so I was going for a dressy daytime sort of look. I wore the short boots and opaque tights to dress things down a bit... do these boots work okay with a skirt?

Here's what I have on:
Printed Dress - Jacob
Cashmere Cardigan with Crystal Buttons- Lord & Taylor via the Bay (Birthday gift from my mom!)
Black Tights (fleece lined!) - Rickis
Short Suede Boots - Shoemint
Sequined Crossbody Bag - Nine West (Birthday gift from a friend!)

Your outfit looks really appropriate. I would love to see that dress with out the cardigan, it looks lovely. Boots look smart AND practical (nice low heel) and how warm are those tights?

Very pretty. I like the boots with the skirt, very on trend. Have you considered belting the cardi? I have seen MaryK do it on some of her WIWs and it can really add a nice pop of color, pattern or texture.

I second the suggestion to add a belt or maybe a pendant or scarf to break up the expanse of closed cardigan (guessing you aren't wearing it open because it's cold?) and then creating some continuity between the top of the dress at the neck and the skirt of it below.

Love the cashmere cardi and the Shoemint booties! I got some extremely high 5" platforms from them this past summer, but nothing else yet. Are you getting things from them on a regular basis?

Deborah - We are having a pretty mild winter, actually, so I haven't had a chance to really test them out for warmth, but I'd say they are warmer than lightweight dress pants. They are very comfortable and soft inside, and more opaque than regular tights.

Thistle - I did try belting the cardi, but with the crossbody bag there were too many things around my torso

Suz - You know, I didn't even think of the jacket! But since I picked up that awesome houndstooth one today I will be returning the White F21.

ManidipaM - It was a play But I do dress up for the movies on occasion. I may try the cardigan open, I was having a tricky time with accessories + the crossbody bag. The bag sat nicely over the closed cardigan so that's how I wore it.

CocoLion - The booties are my first Shoemint purchase, though I have a pair of ballet flats on the way. I am pretty happy with the booties thus far. How do you like your platforms? Probably not going to purchase from them regularly - the $20 shipping per pair to Canada is a bit much.
