WIW - Midi, olive, plaid vest, white boots

#1 - Grey midi skirt with navy top and navy boots. I'm getting more used to tucking although it's still not my natural inclination.

#2 - Olive pants and sweater - Casual weekend outfit for brunch with my extended family.

#3 - This one is a departure for me, but I didn't hate it. My aunt gave me the vest for Xmas and it's definitely too boxy and probably a size too big. However, I liked this outfit and I'll probably wear it a bunch to soccer games this spring. I also rarely wear my hair up other than to work out, but I didn't have time to wash it before we needed to leave (meeting people at the Albuquerque Museum to see the temporary Jim Henson exhibit).

A great set of casually-polished outfits Sara; I especially love #5! The contrast and white makes for a great offset to gloomy January.

I agree the vest is probably a touch big for you, but it's cute and cozy, and I love the plaid pattern.

Tuck and belt jeans with a black belt, full or front tuck it can work with some of your tops in 2 and 5. You need to change up your style a little as you mentioned you were afraid to tuck yet you get compliments on how it looks so rest assured it will look good!

If you don’t want to try then please say so, but please if you try something new at least once, you might like it.

Jess - I was taking your suggestion! I tucked #1 which is not something I usually do. I'm slowly easing into tucking in my more recent outfits.

I like all the outfits especially your asymmetrical skirt in #1. I think the vest is winter comfy and could be done with your darker jeans or white ones ( probably looks slimmer with zipper undone and pendant/slim scarf added?..). Being slightly big the vest could be worn over heavier sweaters when it's really chilly.

1 and 5 are my faves. The asymmetric skirt and the tucked blouse are fab. Love the simple jeans and sweater look with the white booties too. SO fab--simple and polished. My fave! YLF!

You look lovely in all of these,l really like the plaid even though as you observed it is probably on the generous side for you but oversized clothing is quite fashionable here in the uk at the moment.

I love the long looks of 1 & 5! They feel particularly fresh to me. The best is cute... it screams middle America to me, if anybody cares... lol. Not just because it’s red, white and blue... it’s ‘cause it’s a fleecy hooded plaid vest.

@SaraL I meant with jeans and belt for added style, but I just realized the other outfit you are referring to is your first tuck and you are right to ease into it. I’m sorry for jumping the gun.
