I posted a few days ago with some of my "style" conclusions and they included: I like wider legged pants, I like suits, and I like accessories. Today I did all of them so I may look like a matchy matchy magpie.
I bought the suit a few weeks ago. I was ready to pay for just the pants and then had the order put on hold and grabbed the jacket. The pants fit quite well and have flap and button pockets in back which works since I have minimal booty. I might have been able to downsize in the jacket for the torso but this size is a good fit in the shoulders so I can tailor if needed.
I added a white button shirt (jenna roll), my new green booties and a vintage green coach bag. I am trying out changing up bags to go with outfits instead of defaulting to the black hobo that I love. I came across a blogger who uses a lot of big faux pearls and realized this was something I am drawn to (probably why I have quite a few in the jewellery box) so I added the pearls for a bit of shine and polish.
The booties and bag are a bit matchy matchy since the suit also has a teal stripe but I am good wtih that.
I plan to wear the pants with the black merino t-neck and picked up a scarf in creams, black, and teal that will accent it well. The jacket can be worn with black pants or a skirt.
Suit: Kasper
Shirt: Charles Tyrwhitt
Booties: Earth
Bag: vintage coach
Pearls: JCrew (may have been BR)
So what do you think? Too much matchy matchy? Did I go overboard on the ladylike polished?
I am as interested in critiques as in positive feedback so feel free to offer advice or suggestions. It's all good.
