One of my neighbors sent out a last minute invite yesterday for a casual dinner to welcome some new neighbors. I managed to get home from my bike ride (cut it a little short) in time to quickly shower and throw on the first thing that came to mind: pairing two new items. The linen trousers from Anthro and a burgundy tank from Madewell. I went into Madewell looking for a non-sheer white top (and found one!), and ended up with a couple other simple summer tops. Their cuts worked better on me than I expected -- on the hanger they look very boxy, but the drape makes them work for me.

Anyway, finished the outfit with my gold Matt Bernson sandals and a necklace that picked up the same gold color. Grabbed a summery straw clutch to continue the light tones, and off I went.

I didn't think to take a photo until I got home after dark, so these pics are rather dark, and our room is a mess because I was rushing earlier, but you get the gist.

I'm glad I kept these pants -- it's nice to have a cool but covered option for summer, and they're casual enough for something like last night's plans. I think I'll like them with white tops too.
