Iozz_oz Lucky you - Japan in September will be perfect. July was great, but very hot. The gold jacket was very handy because most days at about 4pm there was torrential rain.
JuniperGreen - I did a little shopping. I bought a handbag and dress in Tokyo, which were my good purchases, and then some fun t-shirts etc on the rest of my trip. For Pokemon fans there was a very cool Pikachu t-shirt in Uniqlo (so I bought 3 of these so that I have a constant supply)!
Diana - for me shoes are the most important element to get right on a trip. I brought 4 pairs, because my feet are so fussy that I need to change up what I wear every day to avoid any blisters. Unfortunately that took up quite a bit of space in my case. The gold jacket was used daily to deal with the heavy rain.
JoyceB - thanks, I always enjoy seeing other's travel posts too.
Rachylou - your uncle sounds like fun, although abandoning your Mum was pretty bad. I am sure he would not be so mean to his niece - it must be that he reverts to being a naughty little brother when with her.
Jenni NZ - Funny to think that I may have crossed paths with your daughter. It was hot, but luckily I do like the heat and it was nice to escape the Australian winter weather.
Brooklyn - thanks for your kind words. I love florals too.
K2 - you are wise to pack cool cottons and linens. I didn't really believe that Japan got quite so hot - as on previous visits I was always freezing cold (but that is because I am Australian and don't really know what cold weather is at all)!
Ryce - I must admit to loving shoes! I probably should have travelled with less shoes as it meant that there was not much space left to buy anything new.
Sal - I really enjoyed getting away and experiencing a place so different from where I live. However, it is lovely to be home again. I missed my doggie Bijou very much.
