Today I was in the mood to wear this dark turquoise Equipment shirt, so I just grabbed my dark grey jeans, and then felt like adding some third piece for a little more structure without additional warmth. I have struggled with my vests in the last year or so because they're pretty structured and fitted, while my shirts have become looser and more fluid. But this one seemed to work pretty well, so I went for it.
This vest has almost gone in the donation bag a couple of times, but I have a soft spot for it because I bought it in Paris, and it is very well made and fits nicely. The metal beading detail (last pic closeup) might read a little more boho than my preferences these days, but if I keep the other items in the outfit simple and streamlined, I think it works. What do you think?
Further evidence my wardrobe is really working well as a cohesive collection these days: I pulled out this handbag, and then later pulled out this scarf, and then realized how well they go together. The scarf is too ALGO with the vest, but when the vest is hidden under my jacket, being worn as outerwear today, the scarf works.
Then I got into my studio and realized my scarf and my shirt match my Antarctic ice photos. Too funny.
Shirt: Equipment (great sale at Nieman Lasr Call)
Vest: Sandro (Paris)
Jeans: Level 99 (Anthro)
Jacket (being worn as an overcoat today): BCBG (are you sick of seeing this yet??)
Scarf: Nordstrom
Booties: Jeffrey Campbell
Bag: Aimee Kestenberg
This might seem pretty dressy for going in to my studio to work on the computer. Honestly, some days the only people who see my outfits are the parking garage attendants, but I figure I have great clothes -- I'm going to enjoy wearing them!
