WIW - hubby's shirt

I like wearing hubby's shirt instead of a cardigan or jacket over jeans or a denim skirt sometimes, especially when I'm staying home. Today is one of those days.

Yesterday, to church, I wore a column of grey. I hadn't seen Suz's post when I picked out the outfit, but we are close to twins on this one.

I wore on old-lady white cardigan with it, but only for warmth under my coat.

Great idea - I'm keen to see how it woul look with a black t shirt and a striped t shirt underneath.
Always love wearing something from my SO - keeps them with me all day long.

Cute! I'm envious, DH's shirt would be long enough to make a very baggy dress. I'd just suggest rolling the sleeves up to above the elbows.

You look very elegant in your column of grey. So even if I did not inspire it, I would happily take credit.

As for hubby's shirt, there is something very "painterly" to me about that look, like a painter's smock, I mean, and it's one I've always enjoyed for around the house. Yours is a very crisp, clean version. With the stripes, as Merwoman suggests, it would be very French.

I do this too. I think a striped shirt underneath would look great. Your column of grey looks excellent also, (magic scarf rides again!).

White on white was not the most aesthetic choice, I grant you. I had a hankering to wear this little-used scarf though, and I prefer it with white, for the mutual brightening effect. The grey and white T would have been ideal, but it was still working its way through the laundry. Next time ;o)

Suz, you're right, it does make me feel like a French painter. This particular shirt is one that's too small for hubby now. When I first noticed the boyfriend shirt thing in ads, I said to myself "I have a boyfriend" and dug through his closet. As straight shirts, I found them too baggy and shapeless, but as a topper over jeans, I like them. Hubby did quite the double-take when he saw me.

Yes, the magic scarf... LOL! I did have a couple of others that could have worked, but I wanted both the red and the white to cheer things up a bit. I will confess to laughing when I took that scarf out of the drawer. I've had it less than a year, and its CPW is already very respectable. In the end, it's going to come close to free, I think. The only time I can't wear it is when the pattern-mixing pushes too far out of my comfort zone. Otherwise, it seems to be able to go with virtually anything I throw at it.

Lovely, lovely looks! I love the scarf with the white on white. I wear a thin, old shirt of my DH's too around the house as a swim suit cover-up sometimes, when I don't want to be constricted or have to hold my stomach in, lol! I Your column of grey looks chic and tailored. YLF!
