WIW - Girly + Camo + Coveralls

Hey fabbers! This is a weird commingling of items from my long birthday weekend. Hubs believes in spending lots of days celebrating, and who am I to say him nay? There was a trip to the ice cream parlor and craft store on Saturday. Sunday was a bagel morning in Claremont and a bit of window shopping in the village, which is an adorable college town with cute shops. Monday was a trip to two malls for shoe shopping - nothing came home with us - sushi lunch, and a chair massage. Then Tuesday, my actual birthday, I was whisked away for some indoor skydiving, Chinese food, a hike, and a planetarium show. Wow! I feel so lucky, and so loved. It was miraculous.

#1 and 2 are from Monday, a new skirt I just got, and boy howdy is it comfy! The print is bluer than it shows up. It is made by Soybu, part soy, part bamboo. Top is an old Inc.

#3 are our fortunes from the Panda Inn at Universal CityWalk. Hubs's fortune is the first one and it suits him to a tee. We got to have a lovely chat with the owner, Jack, and he gave us some lychee ice cream to try, it was divine!

#4 and 5 show a present from hubs, a new bracelet! It was purchased many months ago on our trip to Grand Canyon, and has been tucked away waiting for me ever since. The beads are camo print but they look almost leopard from a distance, interspersed with sparkly hematite-looking ones. It goes with everything and I think it will give me that dash of UWP I've been looking for! My face looks thrashed in #4, just tired from all of my celebrating.

#6 is me and my instructor, Rock (!), doin' some indoor skydiving! This is the bomb, we have done it many times, and I highly recommend it. All the fun of skydiving with none of the danger. I am the one in blue with the drooly smile!

Thank you, Una! Yes, the weather has been sunny and hot in this crazy desert. Today, it's trying to be Alaska, cloudy and relatively cool, and we even had a sprinkle this morning!

I love those soft eco fabrics like Soybu, but I am sorry, I can't take my eyes off of that green grass. And you said you live in a desert? Where does your water come from?

How cool are you??? Indoor skydiving looks like a blast. And how fantastic that your husband made you feel so celebrated and special. It's clear he cherishes you! Love the bracelet.

Shannon! Thank you for checking me out, glad you liked it. I must confess, I knew about the bracelet all along, because I was there when he bought it.

Yeah, indoor skydiving is really fun! You are in a plexiglass tube, and there's a big fan at the top that sucks you up. They can adjust the fan speed, and you learn how to pose your body so you are like a leaf in the wind. The instructors can do a whole bunch of neat tricks, headstands while spinning in a circle, swooping dives, walking up the wall, etc. It's just a hoot! I have almost perfected floating on my tummy, and I can spin in both directions on command, and even go forward and backwards a little bit, usually. It's like learning a whole new language of coordination. But the body is really smart and figures it out, if you can just keep your brain from getting in the way!
