WIW - Girly Biker Mod

Wore this on casual friday at work.

The dress has been languishing in my wardrobe since I bought it a few months ago and I thought I'd give it a go today. As it is rather short in comparison to my usual dresses I toned it down with opaque tights and flat studded/chain detail biker boots. I think I like the overall look as it was quite 'plain' for me in terms of layering/pattern mixing but I still had pattern, details and texture.

I would love to hear any opinions. Thanks for looking.

Funny, I've thought about pairings of Mod and bikery things...reflecting that in swinging 60s London, I imagine that nobody would have dared to go there, since the styles each belonged to (literally) warring factions.

Really like the dress structure and I think the outfit is great with it - like you say, with enough texture and detail, it doesn't need to have lots of layers - those boots really hold their own on the bottom half. Love how the bird wings are similar to the paisley points.

Looks good! It's definitely less layered than I'm used to seeing on you, but it's got plenty of interest as you said. That's one cool paisley print!

Ambergreen - I didn't even think about the fact I wearing the styles of two warring gangs from the 60's (thanks for the food for thought)

Rabbit - now you've mentioned the Paisley print echoes the bird wings I see it.

Retro, cute, edgy, and modern. I have a crazy love for paisley, and in my thin days I loved polos, camp shirts, or bowling shirts, so this looks like what I wore to college in the fall of 1969. Earlier, in high school, the length would have caused me to be sent to the office and then home to change. I still love it (on you!)
