More fall-like weather has arrived in my part of the world (yay! I was in Austin over the weekend at it was, by turns, steamy and stormy!). My plans today included a quick errand, some work at the studio, and then drinks and a very low-key, casual birthday celebration for my sister, who is visiting from out of town.

So I'm finally breaking out this geometric color-blocked top that Angie discovered. I've been waiting for months to wear it! I think it's one of those things that looks even better IRL because it's so drapey and has nice movement. Paired it with my black JBrand skinnies and my Pliner burgundy suede boots to pick up the burgundy leather detail on the shoulder. Kept everything else simple with black watchband, black purse, and pearl ring.

Since it will be cooler tonight, I am taking along a new purchase that has already achieved workhorse status (it's my favorite new thing to wear for air travel!). The long grey cardigan came from Anthro, and I normally wouldn't bother even trying on a cardigan, but I liked the long length of this one and most of all, the leather details -- the edges, pockets, and sleeves have black leather accents. There is also one at the center of the back to give it a little shape. I like that it does not overwhelm me with fabric and it doesn't have too much of a waterfall style, since I've been over that look for a while. My husband gave it a big thumbs up, which means it's suitably rock'n'roll.

Pics are not great, sorry. Was in a rush to leave the house. I hope I made up for it by including gratuitous cute pug pictures.
