WiW - Gasp! First time in ages - My Boyfriend Experiment

Hello Everyone!

Goodness, lucky my husband "understands" You Look Fab and the notion of boyfriend jeans, otherwise this post title could get me in serious trouble!

I've missed you all. I'm sorry for my absence these past few months. I hope you don't mind, but I shan't go into my boring reasons. Please know that I have often wondered where everybody is "at" with their lives and style journeys.

Having got back into reading Angie's threads and having previously dismissed the "boyfriend" look as never-ever-working-for-me, I decided "what the hey", I'll give it a try anyway. I know, I know - what a rebel!

Sooo - this is my first attempt in ages at a "Southern-Hemisphere-It's-Winter-But-Its-Going-To-Be-Twenty-Three-Degrees-Today-And-I'm-Going-Shopping-Look."

This is a first-cut shop my closet attempt. Ignore the fact that these aren't actually boyfriend jeans (I don't own any, but that certainly wasn't going to stop me!) and the fact that I have the most ridiculous expression on my face.

Let me know your thoughts, I'd love to find out whether this is a look that COULD work?

(PS: Oh, and I promise the hem-lines are actually exactly even, it is the fact that I tried to get "arty" with my pose and my son is a strict one-shot-shooter. I'm sure you can understand!

I love that you tried the BF look. If I'm not mistaken, these are bootcuts that you've rolled up. Is that right? You'll get a better effect rolling up straight legs jeans - and the baggier they are, the better. Does that make sense?

Wow, wow, wow! Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I'm pleased that I haven't totally disgraced myself (I'm feeling a tad rusty having not posted a WiW on here for quite some time).

More than anything, I'm just glad that some of you remember me (I was kinda worried, I confess!).

You know, maybe I shall have a look in the shops today to see if I can see a pair of boyfriend jeans, so I can try this look properly. I'm not sure I've seen many of this style of jean in the shops (coloured denim still seems to be "it" at the moment from what I can tell) - but you never know.

Haha still laughing at the BF experiment title and trying to imagine your hubbies face if he didn't understand what that meant. I think this is a successful experiment but as some of the others said would look even better with more tapered jeans which would remove some of the bulk in the tuck. So jealous that you have 23 degree winter days and at the moment we are having days that range anywhere from 2 degrees to 16degrees.

Katie, welcome back. Whatever the reasons for absence are, your thoughtful presence was felt I do hope you'll be around more often.

I adore this outfit! You look lovely and that necklace lifts everything up by two notches at least. Simply fab. Just yesterday I saw a girl on the bike in gorgeous summer blue dress and big yellow beaded necklace and made a mental note how colorful necklaces can add so much to the outfit, and look at you now - the very example of the same thing.

As some of your probably remember, I consider myself very much a newbie in relation to dressing with style, so reading all your compliments was a real thrill. I'm glad you like my necklace, it always makes me smile and feel good when I wear it, so it is wonderful that you "could see it and feel it" too!
