Sveta posted about the gap merino sweaters last week and I ended up ordering two of them. They arrive yesterday (slow for gap) and I tried on the crew neck one. I really like the color and feel of the sweater. I guarantee it is the flash that gave it a slightly transparent look (as in the post about photo issues). Gap suggested to size up on the sweater for the crew but not the t-neck. For reference, my bust is about 36" or a bit smaller, my underbust measure is 27", and I wear a 30 bra. I am normally a S to M so I ordered a Large to get a more fluid fit.
The fit is not as loose as I had expected but I still like it and feel it has a place in my wardrobe so I wore it today. I paired it with my VC ruched tube skirt, laMer watch and the black patent ankle boots. I think it worked. I like the weight and feel of the fabric so am thinking to order another but in XL this time. I won't let the size bother me but suspect the larger sizes will sell out fairly quickly and those of you who are smaller, may get a great deal in a month or so.
I have been wearing booties with bare legs the last week because it is too chilly for open shoes but too warm for tights and am finding that the boots rub on my ankle. They are far from snug - in fact I have to be vigilant to make sure that I don't have too much of the flower pot effect happening. Does anyone else have this happen?
I am also posting yesterdays outfit even though it wasn't great. I actually thought it looked much better and did get a compliment or two on it. The skirt is Louben and part of a suit and the shirt has silver corners on the collar and silver flat buttons on the cuffs that don't show. I didn't take close ups.
Suggestions and advice are always welcome - including the not so positive.
