WIW - For big changes - YouLookFab Forum

At our office staff meeting yesterday morning we were all informed that we are no longer employees of Company A, but are now all employees of Company B. My current company (which is a tiny family owned company with only 6 employees) had merged with Company B. We will have the same boss, but be moving into new offices, new HR paperwork, etc. It's been a little stressful.

I wore this outfit with no idea that yesterday was going to be different than any other day. The president of the new company was in town to talk to us about the transition. I wouldn't have chosen this if I known that. While the outfit is appropriately professional, I wouldn't have worn something so bright and high contrast.

The tights are grey, which Day Vies suggested last time I wore this skirt. I was going to wear grey boots also but the greys were too different and the grey tights ended up looking almost lavender against the grey boots. I like the look of the grey tights here.

Well I like this look, and the high contrast. Red is supposed to be a power color. Maybe that will work in your favor having met the new boss in red?

I think red white and black are classics together and you look very professional. Sorry to hear of the work turmoil. Hoping everything settles down soon.

I think, at a time like this, it's good to be visible. Perhaps red -- a universally strong color and a symbol of good luck, was the perfect choice. You're wearing it with a classic, professional silhouette.

That does sound like quite a surprise - but you looked great and red is a great "power" color so I think it was actually a good thing from a fashion standpoint. Here's to a successful merge - you'll have some new workmates to get to know, which could be fun.

Hopefully this change will be good. The announcement was just a little shocking and it's a strange feeling to be transferred to a new company with no say (other than leaving).

WOW, you looked great on the day of such news. I think if colour can offset the surprise, this would be my choice.

I hate the way you were informed. Bam, out of the blue! Brings back memories of when similar thing happened at one old workplace and 60% of staff who came to the office thinking it was day like any other were wiped off the payroll by midday. Awful. Those of us who remained were rattling in the enormous building and it never felt the same again. The changes you're heading to will continue to be stressful for a while, I am sure. Better to be prepared. But, it's good you're moving to a new office, at least you're not staying in the old environment which would make transition to the new way of working much harder I think. New everything, clean slate in a way is sometimes better. Good luck. I hope the commute will not be more difficult.
