WIW - feeling a bit bored?

Here's what I'm wearing today, it's a well-proven formula and I do like it. But I kind of feel it's a bit boring. Not sure why that's the case, maybe it's too matchy-matchy?

Also a bonus pic of my outerwear and my gearish but practical bag. Love this coat btw, too bad it's not warm enough. I felt a bit cold even with the fall temperatures we're having at the moment.

Astrid - I really like this outfit, looks great on you! If you wanted to change it up, you could try colored or patterened tights, if that is your thing. The coat is very flattering too, but I know what you mean about not being warm enough. I have a thinsulate lined wool coat and my arms are still always cold.

I think the brown shoes save it from being predictable. Very cute!

I like it, Astrid! I think the red band of your watch lifts it from being boring. I like the top so I don't think it is boring anyway.

I am an accessory lover and I say bangles or necklaces. A bright skinny belt might be fun too. I do agree the shoes save it from being completely predictable.

I don't think this looks boring at all Astrid. Curious - is it just this outfit that is feeling that way to you or are you feeling that way about your style?

Is it the shape of the outfit (flared skirt, knit top, cardigan) or the colors you find boring? I think the outfit looks great of you but I do understand how even tried and true formulas can start feeling too tame.

Thanks Linda! I wear both colored and patterned tights, so that would have been a possibility. This coat was the first coat I bought after I started reading YLF and I love the way it looks one me - unfortunately it isn't wool and was cheap, you can see that it isn't a great quality.

Thanks Heleen! I didn't even pay attention to the watch, but I think you're right. I was just today thinking about changing to a darker strap for a change, but maybe I should keep the red.

Thanks Shannon. That's a good question! I would say this outfit, but I'm not entirely sure. Maybe it's the 'well-behaved' look this has? Like Cardigan and matchy-matchy and little shoes and all? Not sure.

Thanks Sara! I guess it's neither, I like the colors together and I like the silhouette on me because it's flattering. It's more these actual pieces together? Mmh.

I think this is great. Sometimes an outfit I wear seems almost TOO predictably me, and then I try to change something up. Maybe some boots here? There are days when I like being as ME as possible but not always!

This is classic "Astrid," and that's a compliment! If you want to mix it up, I think I'm enjoying jackets and chunkier sweaters more than thinner cardis at the moment. Just an idea.

Thanks Beth Ann! I agree, I'd love a chunky cardigan to wear with skirts. I'm searching for one. I still want to wait a bit with wearing my warm sweaters because it isn't that cold yet.

I love it the way it is but I get that bored feeling too. The green looks so great with your hair & skin what about darker green tights & some different green bangles?

I really like this outfit, but if you are getting bored maybe think of some ways to incorporate more seasonal trends? I really like the color of the watch. It plays off your hair and shoes well. I also think that your outdoor look is adorably student chic.

Thanks Caro! I don't think I have green tights, but some dark green ones would be lovely. Don't have green bangles either, I don't have much costume jewelry at all.

Thanks Angie! I agree about the booties - I don't have a pair yet, but I'm on the search for the perfect ones. I also need to buy some new patterned tights, my favourite ones all had to be ditched.

Thanks Scarlet! You're right about looking for some more seasonal trends, I don't really do that. I just layer my thin stuff for warmth and wear a warmer coat and so on. But I really wear most things year round. I'm still searching for a chunky sweater that's cropped enough to go with skirts.
