WIW - Dressing Down Silky Track Pants

Trying to stick to my promise to post more regularly:-)
This was just a simple outfit for another very rainy day. (I'm starting to think we are going to skip Summer entirely this year -((
In defiance I wore my white booties!

I think the proportions would probably be better if I could scrunch the elasticated hems of the trousers a bit more, but they won't stay up. Plus, that would also show more of the blue-grey elastic insets on the booties, which I love.

All thoughts and comments welcome.

ETA: I forgot to photograph my bag (picked up at the Van Gogh museum last year with Angie).

Fabulous sporty luxe pants, it seems counter intuitive, but they make the outfit more pretty and urban.

Fabulous outfit. I like the simple lines as you are wearing it, but if you want to show the booties more, could you roll the cuffed hem? Please send us some of your cool rainy weather. We just had the driest June since 1936 (Dust Bowl time) and the heat is also record breaking.

It's the booties that take this fab, classic look and make it yours. I think rolling the pants might be marvelous, too, but mostly -- I can imagine a red neckerchief!

I love cool summers --- although there should be just enough rainy days for plenty of tea and reading, and plenty of sun for walking and cycling.

Love this, Inge. I have the same problem with my track pants. It seems the elastic is always too tight or too loose. You look effortlessly stylish regardless of those uncooperative hems. Great to see you!

Those boots are incredible! I think they look great with the track pants at this length - the hems fall nicely over the booties (which is always the issue I have with mine) and the proportions are great. Very elegant with a touch of urban edge.

Fabulous outfit, Queen Stripe. I LOVE the bag and boots we picked up together in Amsterdam last year. Such treasures and precious memories. They work wonderfully well with this outfit.

Great casual look ! White boots are waaaay out of my wheelhouse, but I do like these a lot - I'm a sucker for classic brogue detailing on anything Sorry about the weather - some summers are just that way, it seems.

You look too cool! That perforation pattern on your boots is genius, and I want those pants (already have the top and jacket). Hope the sun comes out soon. We have more than enough here, I'll see if I can send some your way.

Sporty luxe perfection! I'm another lover of stripes, and of silky Trackpants But what really strikes me here is the fabulous fit and the great proportions. Casual but polished.

I like how you styled your silky track pants! Those are awesome boots, and stripes are always a winner in my book.

I have a pair of silky track pants from Banana Republic which I love, and wear frequently, but I have the same problem with the elasticized cuffs not staying put. Actually, usually one of them stays up while the other slips down to my ankle. Hey, maybe it could be a new asymmetrical pant length trend!
