I’m going to a celebration of life this afternoon for a dear friend’s father. It’s a beautiful day here and I got in 6 miles in the woods this morning in the form of a little run but mostly walk, including a near face-plant when I tripped on a root — this is why I am a horrible trail runner. One knee is bruised and a little scraped, but thankfully my dress covers that!

I got this wrap shirt dress at Anthro a few years ago, knowing it would not be a workhorse but that I would enjoy it when I have a rare occasion to wear it. It’s the kind of thing I’d wear all the time if I worked a “real job” but I’ve learned to stop buying these things that suit a non-existent lifestyle. No regrets though — I firmly believe that infrequently worn items can still have a valuable place in a wardrobe, if they fill a need and are appreciated.

Plus, it has pockets!

These United Nude shoes went in and out of the holding zone, and honestly this is the first I’ve worn them this year. But again, they’re really good with this dress, they’re comfortable, and I have room for them, so they’re staying for now. They’re also in really good shape and I like them.

Added resin hoop earrings, watch, silver ring, and black/metallic clutch/crossbody.

Bonus: sleepy Tippi
