This is the second of the three dresses I bought last weekend,. This is one of the dresses I bought with optical illusion stripes. On this one, the top is lighter to visually expand and balance. I used the white denim jacket to tone it down and pointy toes nude flats. I tried a necklace but changed my mind and took it off. I used a vintage (or just used) Coach bag in black. I like that it can be cross body or carried by the handle.

For context, our office is extremely casual and almost anything goes. Having said that, I am wondering if it might be a touch short. What do you think of the fit, color, and length?

I really like it with the jacket. I'm not as fond of the cap sleeves on their own. I would personally be uncomfortable with that length at work, but only you can know for sure. How do you feel in it?

It is a gorgeous dress on you, I prefer it without the jacket, but with the bag. It's shorter than I would do for the office.

Gorgeous dress on you Dianthus - I love the three "sections" of the dress and how they've worked the colours. The fit is beautiful on you. I personally would find it too short for work, but great for a night out.

Thanks ladies. I know in most offices this dress would be considered too short but our office is extremely casual - even in finance. The director I report to (mid-40s) wears dresses and skirts that are actually at least a few inches shorter than this one. A few of the girls also wear very short skirts and some pretty questionable tops so this is quite tame and covered for my environment. Having said that, I do think I will reserve it more for social outings but may wear it for the office if I am going out right after.

It is quite surprising what a range of styles and cuts are acceptable in different offices.

I love the dress! I also work in an office where anything goes but this would be too short for me. I tend to only wear this length if I am wearing say an opaque tight or leggings. But it really comes down to what you are comfortable with. I could also see this with a black blazer and your nude heeled sandals. Having said that I certainly don't think it's inappropriate for the office.

Hm, I know this may be a geographical quirk, but plenty of ladies in my office wear shorter skirts than that, and they are both older and much higher up on the food chain than I am. I wouldn't have batted an eyelash at the length with you in flats like that.

Great idea to wear on days that you go out afterward!

This is a fab dress on you and I don't think its too short! This is just my opinion though but I think that black sandals may look better with this particular dress and bag. I don't always match shoes and bags exactly but in case, I think black may work better than nude

What a delightful colour and pattern. Love how the white stripe up top emphasizes your shoulders.

If it is a little on the short side, I think you do an admirable job of de-bombshelling it with the nude flats and casual jacket and the i-mean-business bag!

Pretty dress. I didn't notice the length when I looked at the picture. The white jacket is fabulous. I think the black purse doesn't work with that jacket, though. The jacket, dress, and shoes seems so fresh and light. The black bag weighs it down. I thought of taupe as an alternative when I saw the picture initially.

ETA: Maybe a little bit short for the office (but keep it for non-work occasions!)

I really like this dress and the way you have styled it. I did notice that it seemed a little short but you have the legs to wear it, and you seem to have decided the most appropriate occasions to wear it, so ENJOY!

The dress is beautiful and really emphasizes your hourglass shape! I love it with the jacket and the nude footwear also, although black footwear would also work well!
