WIW - Deep Blue, White and Light Denim for Last HOT Day

I know, my daily style is pretty boring but thought I'd just try to share in the whole "keeping it real" theme. I hope this is the last really, really hot day. Not that we won't still be in the 90's again, but just not the 100's. This is a simple, everyday work at home outfit for me. Shorts, Tee, Bracelet, Belt and Shoes.

The tee has some visible white stitching on the pocket and sleeve hems. The white bracelet adds just a touch more white to go with the shoes, belt and the handbag I'll carry.

Tee: Madewell
Shorts: DIY cutoffs (AE jeans)
Belt: Kohls can't remember brand
Shoes: UGG slip on sneaks
Bracelets: White turquoise from Etsy and Ink Blue from Chicos sale (I asked DH to cut off the long tassles that each of these bracelets had so they would work for me - and I'm so happy it worked as they were only $8 ea.)

I am amazed that you can look so good in this kind of heat. And I appreciate the "keeping it real" posts. Your outfits are a lot like my daily outfits, except yours veer for hot climate and mine for cold. It's the same formula of denim, semi-tucked fluid top, interested belt, and a bracelet. Except you change up your bracelets in interesting ways and I do not!

Suz - thank you. Sometimes I feel sort of left out with all the great outfits here and I'm in my same 'ol shorts and tee "uniform." I do feel good in most of my daily wear these days so at least I've made progress for team casual.

Love the blue and white theme, and you have the best shorts legs! This is what my casual days look like too. Maybe the temps have something to do with it? Today highs between 93-97 and pretty much 90s for the next 10 days. Sigh.

AngieT- thanks, the white belt was an orphan at first but now I seem to wear it quite often.
CocoLion- thank you and right back at you on the legs :-). Tomorrow and Sunday we're supposed to have a short reprieve with a cold front but next weeks forecast is just like yours.

Texstyle, great attention to detail. I doubt I would bother with a bracelet or belt in that heat. I love the combination of the blues and whites. They look really nice on you.

I suspect your version of a cold front and ours is a mile apart.

I love it! I think it looks cool in both senses! The white belt--I really struggled with my white belt too, until I realized it was very helpful with white and bone footwear. You figured it out a lot faster than me, I think!

dianthus - well, since it's pretty much 85-100 for six or more months of the year, I really just had to adjust to it. It's been so many years now that honestly 90F doesn't feel all that hot (unless it's very humid). Our cold front means tomorrows high will be maybe 75-79 :-).

K. Period - thanks! Yes, the white footwear and/or white handbag/jewelry makes the white belt much easier for me to style.

The accessories have to do all the talking when it's shorts and tee weather! I like your belt and shoe bookending.

I can't seem to make white shoes work for me, but have found that metallic silver is a fab substitute.

Real, but excellent! How many of us would have worn a belt with shorts 10 years ago? A belt (truly necessary with larger bf shorts and jeans) gives structure and interest, and the white shoes and bracelets give a bit of pop. You also have created a great silhouette and flattering color element.

I enjoy seeing you keeping it real -- especially since this is very much like my 95 degree weather dressing as well! Those shorts are so perfect on you, and the touches of white really pull everything together and make a casual outfit look intentional and polished.
