I had to venture out yesterday and today.

Pics 1-2 Yesterday to pick up my art from an exhibition that never even got to open to the public. Sigh. Although I then took the opportunity to go for a walk around lovely historic Annapolis (pics 9-). I went full on incognito with shades and hat (it was sunny and windy!) in pic 3.

Pics 4-7 Today. Debuting the new Athleta Brooklyn pants. I really could have gone down a size — they drifted down my waist during the day — but maybe I’ll have the waist taken in a little at some point. The side panels are elasticated so there’s lots of stretch and give. They are super comfortable. I wore this to go to the studio for the first time in two months — I needed to make a print for a client. I then picked up some books curbside from a local shop I had bought from online, and went to a local bike shop to get new cycling shoes — my old ones are 6 years old and getting really beat up. The shop GAVE me a free cycling jersey! It is a partnership item with the radio station where I used to work. I thought that was super sweet, and the colors tie together the color of my bike (Orange) with my new cycling shoes (blue). Score!

Oh, these are not cycling outfits! Lots of walking though.

My cycling gear is all Lycra and padded shorts. Not fashionable but super functional. I am working on building my distance back up — did 30 miles on Sunday.

It was quite quiet around town, both in Annapolis yesterday and in Baltimore today. Most people I did see today were masked up, glad to say.

Thanks for the nice comments! These outfits are athleisure for sure, and that works well for me at this moment in time.

Outfit 1: Lululemon pants (3-ish years old), Naturalizer sneakers (new), T by Alexander Wang top (7-ish years old), ancient Mavi denim jacket (9-ish years old).

Outfit 2: Athleta pants (new), Anthro tee (last year) Sam Edelman sandals (Last year), Levi’s denim jacket (3 yrs old)

You look great, Janet. I love the first outfit as well as the Brooklyn pants outfit. Two great sporty luxe looks. I really like your hair--it has grown out nicely! And yes, definite score on the bike jersey, and super cool shoes. What a great color!

Oh, and Annapolis looks very picturesque.

My hair is actually growing out pretty well, considering. It could use some shaping in the layers for sure, but I’ve snipped at the bangs a little and that’s turned out fine. The roots are...well, I’m just letting it grow for now and I’ll see where I am in another month, color-wise.

The shoes are cut a little narrower than others I tried, which works for me. Of course they were more expensive but I really liked the new type of closure and the color sealed the deal ( the next best fit were grey and pink, and the pink is really not so me).

Sweet Janet, I think you should grow your hair! It looks soooo good longer! And how about bringing out some of the grey in a streak or two? Something like the pics. You also wear grey well - thinking of a recent sweatshirt you posted - so it's a slam dunk!

Sorry Janet, was commenting on items in #8. Those dark blue cycling shoes are the BOMB, and I collect cycling jersey’s as travel souvenirs - so was pulled in like a bee to honey!

Hair looks beautiful. Didn’t Angie suggest you grow it longer in an earlier thread? Though I’m usually a cheerleader for short ‘do’s, I think you would rock longer lengths (if you could tolerate all the hair.). It might be YOUR way to transition to grey.

Gorgeous photos - thanks for sharing. Excellent update on bike gear! I don't know why I've been so reluctant to get my bike out this spring...maybe after all the graduation stuff is over.
You look wonderful in those Athleta pants - great for your long legs. Ever since Athleta discontinued my favorite city joggers (I have 4 pairs!), I have not had luck with their styles.

Love everything here ! And your hair !! Love, love , love it right now . You live near such a pretty city -I really enjoy seeing photos of bright and colourful places like this. I agree that these outfits are terrific on you - and you're reminding me to pull out my Zella and Lulu pants which are perfect for this time of year. And I want those blue cycling shoes ! Great colour . Mine are probably 10 years old and quite boring.

Angie and Carla, I’m definitely going with the flow as far as my hair is concerned for the moment. It’s thinner than it used to be, so actually easier to manage long than it was when I was younger. It’s working well this time of year — as summer arrives with hot and humid weather, we will see what state it takes on. It tends to frizz in the summer.

I could see maybe having some sections bleached out to silver (although it takes a lot of processing to get my hair that light) to help the transition look more intentional. The last time my stylist and I spoke about this, he didn’t think I was at 30% grey yet, but looking at my roots this last week or so, I can’t help but wonder if that’s right. It’s definitely not evenly distributed through my scalp, nor is it in an attractive streak, so I might have to help nature along a bit. It’s highly unlikely I’ll ever have a true full head of silver hair. My mom was 80 when she passed away but maybe 60% grey.
