WIW - Day 3 Oldie but Goodie to a Birthday Party

Saturday night I went out to celebrate one of my closest friend's birthday. We have been good friends since we were 18...how time flies and we had so many laughs catching up.

We went to dinner at a beautiful restaurant and then to a wine bar for after dinner drinks. It was such a fun night, catching up with old friends.

I decided to put one of my "evening" dresses on to celebrate and an older velvet coat. This dress has stretch, so perfect to wear for dinner.

Dress - Cue, purchased recently on deep discount in the end of season sales.
Velvet coat - 4 years old - Trelise Cooper (also bought on sale)
Mini bag - Samantha Thavasa, a gift with purchase on buying a bigger bag

Katerina & Jenni NZ you are both so kind. I do love to wear glamorous clothing, its so fun to dress up! The long ear-rings do take me back to how I borrowed Mum's earrings to wear to my school ball, so even though they are newish, I think I will have them for quite a few years to come.

Both pieces are beautiful on you. That blue illuminates you and the cut is fantastic. Coat is fun, the perfect addition to this.

OMG. I am speechless. You literally knocked it out of the park. That dress! The coat! Everything was so unexpected. It was both ultra sophisticated and glamour. You were definitely red carpet ready.

I am humbled, you are all so very generous and kind. I felt great in this and had a good time. It was very comfortable to wear and I love the texture of the velvet coat, but most of all, I do love the colour of my dress.

I love dressing up but have fewer and fewer occasions anymore, everyone is so casual in my circle. I just decided for my birthday I’m dressing up.

efbgen - I am the ultimate sucker for a gift with purchase or discount, my poor husband just shudders when he sees the sign in a store window... My friend is beautiful and quite different to me, she has dark brown hair, is very petite and has bright green eyes. She is gorgeous inside and out.

Colette - I am sure that your friends will be very happy to have an occasion to dress up. I am lucky that I have a few work events that these dresses get worn to, but it is 100% more fun to dress up to spend time with friends.

Thank you, It was nice to dress up for this special dinner. YLF has helped me be more daring in my wardrobe choices. Two years ago I would have thought this dress was too bodycon for me. Now I am more relaxed and definitely enjoying fashion. It is fun to revisit looks from my teenage years, which these 80’s earrings definitely are.
