We are just back from a couple of weeks camping, and I need to run errands today, so it’s actually kind of nice to put on a semblance of an outfit and wear a little makeup.

I got these corduroys at Anthro a few weeks ago, since I’ve been craving a bit of that soft cord texture for fall/winter. They’re pretty cropped, but they loosen with wear, which makes them sit a little lower as the day goes on. Paired with high shaft booties, the length is acceptable to me. I wouldn’t mind a great pair of full length bootleg cords in a color like burgundy or deep green, but not seeing much around that would work for me (again I plead, can the super high rise thing please die??).

Paired with old cream Rag & Bone v-neck sweater, Dolce Vita booties, and a navy and silver scarf that I rescued from the donate pile. Sometimes I want a scarf that adds more texture than pattern, IYKWIM. It feels just right with the cords.

I’m adding a cream Uniqlo puffy vest and a patterned bag by Baiadera (a label I’d never heard of) that I got a few years ago from one of the discount chains. It’s a really nicely made bag and I like the mix of neutrals in the fall and winter (it gets put away for summer).

Silver jewelry to pick up the metallic threads in the scarf. The blue ring was a gift from my husband probably 20 years ago before we were married, it’s a piece of broken antique Chinese porcelain worked into a silver ring.

Hubs likes the pants, so that encouraged me to cut the tags and wear them today!
