Since we have been home from our trip, I’ve been trying to wear real clothes most days (definitely had a couple of days in gear and may have succumbed to one in loungewear). I’m finding that a good strategy for me is to wear something simple and casual as a base, like in this outfit. Then, if/when I need to go out, I can add a jacket, scarf and maybe certain shoes if the mood strikes that give a more dressed up, polished impression. It makes me happier than just throwing on the same old utilitarian jacket, even if it’s just an hour out like I had to do today for a quick extra grocery trip and a stop at the lighting store to pick up a repaired fixture.

When I got back home, the jacket and scarf come off and I’m wearing something easy to cook or clean in.

It’s just the same AG jeans I wore yesterday plus a black pullover hoodie. Added black Frye combat boots, dark teal Minkoff wool moto, and my old galaxy scarf that seems to magically go with every dark blue-teal-black topper I own.

I actually blow-dried my hair today so it’s straighter than usual. That seems to emphasize the line of demarcation in my hair color and make my natural color more noticeable.
