WIW - column of black + new scarves

Here's the outfit I wore today. I'm normally not one for too much black, but I overslept this morning and had about 5 seconds to decide on an outfit. So I went for something safe. Is it too boring? How do you end up looking when you're in a hurry?

And well, I bought two new scarves today. I know that I said no more scarves, but last week I discovered that I own only ONE solid colored scarf when I was searching for a scarf to wear with my flowery dress. All my scarves are patterned and I think I need some alternatives. I love these colors, I think they'll look good with many of my tops.

Definitely not boring! The shoes and the scarf really up the style factor and you look great in this "I'm in a hurry" outfit.

You've just pointed out something very useful - was wondering why I hardly ever wear scarves, and you know what? A lot of my blouses and tops have a pattern. Aha! Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

I love that! I do that all the time, but I go for more colorful scarfs!

I do the same thing when I'm in a hurry - all black with a pop of color from a scarf. I think your outfit looks great and no one would ever know that you put it together in 5 seconds. I like the colors of the two new scarves and agree that they look very versatile.

You have enough texture Astrid to keep this outfit from being boring. And on those crazy kind of morning, we're just glad we're dressed! The new scarf is a lovely addition to your wardrobe and I adore those shoes.

Astrid, you are looking so good lately, and your confident smile tells me you're getting you style groove on! This is a great fast fall back outfit. The shoes and scarf make it really interesting and I love your satchel! The new scarves don't count since they're solids (*wink*). I love the colors--they're be really pretty with your complexion!

I really like it! The scarf plus your navy coat add layers of interest and richness to your outfit. You don't look like you were in a rush at all!

Thanks VC! I only realised this myself last week - it wasn't a big issue for me because most of my tops are solid colored. I'm glad this was useful to you!

Thanks Claire! It's true that I feel like I get it more often than not lately. And I feel a lot better now that I have my normal weigth back too. I actually saw exactly my satchel in a bigger size in a store today. They reissued the line - I've bought mine maybe four or five years ago. Well I was in love allover again, but I don't really need the same style twice, do I? And I totally agree, the scarves don't count. You're right, the colors are great.

i love the volume at the hem of the dress pair with the dark tights and light shoes! How fresh and fab. Also, the new scarves are BEA-U-TI-FUL, i think you will have lots of fun with them in your wardrobe!

Great outfit Astrid, I'm not used to seeing you in so much black! I really really like the lighter shoes with this, they make the outfit for me. You always have the best scarves I think a lighter scarf with some taupe or tan in it would be really lovely here since the outfit is so dark already.

How do I end up looking when I'm in a hurry? Usually a bit disheveled Actually, I have noted a few of my favorite formulas that have outfit components (not specific pieces), so whenever I am in a hurry I pick one and follow it. Helps a lot!

You invented a FABULOUS FFBO! So easy to pull on and dress up too, as well as looking terrific on you! Love both scarves --- beautiful colours, and so flattering for your colouring. Absolutely dreamy with your red hair...mmm!

So not boring. Black is a great go to color The silhouette is lovely and the color provided by the scarf keeps this interesting. Oh.. and you needed those scarves

Thanks Aida! That's true, I'm not used to it either. I don't think I have a scarf with tan or taupe in it, but I'll have a look. Sounds like a good plan with the formulas...
