Dana, the cheat was a reference to my Project 333, in which I am not supposed to be adding items to my wardrobe right now but broke down when I saw two cute ones at Target for $10 each ... I couldn't resist ... thanks for the kind words
Angie, I know - you had a profound influence on me!! I really liked this one actually, even in a party where everyone was wearing black - I think there were a few factors: one, I was with some of my best friends so totally in my comfort zone, two, I really liked the fit, three, the color is fairly subdued and harmonized really well with my hair and eyes, so it was an easy one to wear. The back is actually black, not teal, which I thought looked kind of cool, too.
I am glad I've tried these back-to-back color experiments, because yesterday I was not sold on the red as much as I do like the color; however, looking at this picture, I think it was more of a fit issue than a color issue ... the red sweater is just a bit too fitted to be drapey, and a bit too drapey to be fitted ... I am going to try it again with skinny pants, untucked, and compare, or maybe even with a shirt underneath. I wonder if perhaps, as I think Suz has most graciously suggested in general terms, I am a bit too quick to pin the blame on color when in fact it might be another element entirely that throws me off. I will play with that too.
Having fun with fashion ... who would've thunk???
