WIW - Cold feet and Khaki - YouLookFab Forum

So today's weather was a trip back to winter (by central Texas standards at least) with a high of about 50. My feet were admittedly a bit cold but I wanted to wear my new AE skinny crops (full length when unrolled on me). Not that the price is the deciding factor but I do love a $30 bargain and these fit the bill and I sized regular instead of up this time with still a bit of slouch.

1. AE Skinny Crops, EB Khaki blazer, EB charcoal V-neck and CK leather belt in light taupe. Old Privo Clarks that I also love and can't seem to replace with a suitable pair.
2. Detail of the belt because it can't be seen easily in the photo and I like it. And notice the floral trim on the inside of the EB blazer? I like that little boho touch when the sleeves are rolled (they are a bit long).
The other detail is an old favorite necklace my best friend repaired for me (after I had it sitting in my drawer for 5 years).

This outfit has a high happiness factor for me but I'm not sure exactly why. The blazer is just a bit roomy but I like that it's comfortable (and a size down wasn't) and for the casual purpose of it, I don't think it would make sense to try and have it altered.

Suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

I can see why, because all these elements work together. I love my AE jeans. I do notice the oversized nature of the jacket, but if the smaller size didn't work for you, comfort-wise, then you made the right choice. Cute floral detail and what a beauty of a necklace (nice friend, too). btw, with the variety of lengths, you can have fun with your shoe choices, from sandals to booties to short pumps.

Thanks Vicki - I am looking forward to trying these rolled to different lengths and with sandals, etc.. I tried them rolled up higher today but it just didn't go well with the flats and the cold weather.

I'm still trying to decide if I should order another of the smaller size jackets and try again. The first one was my usual size but I couldn't move my arms comfortably. I was impatient (and this jacket kept selling out) so I just went for the larger size. Even this one isn't super roomy in the arms for some reason - though it looks like it should be. I've shopped for a khaki/taupe blazer for so long and have tried so many - this was the best out of them I found so far.

I think this is a great outfit. I love the jeans and the jacket looks like it fits. But if you feel that it is too big then for sure order the next size down and see what you think.

Glory, thanks - I did try the smaller size but the arms were uncomfortable. I think it's just a different cut/style. Maybe another of the same size would fit differently though.

Suz - Glad you like the jeans, I feel like you're one of my jeanspirations here on YLF so I value your opinion on them. I like the slightly darker wash of these.

The shoes look sweetly casual too (sorry you were cold - yup - this would be a warm day look for me).

I vote scrunch the sleeves of the jacket for more structure. That will make the whole oversized look, look more intentional

This is really nice, Texstyle, looks comfy and put together. I basically love everything, but I think the belt is what really makes the outfit for me.

I'll try the sleeve scrunch - thanks Angie and caro! And thank you pil, I really am loving this belt too but I need to wear it with more of a tuck to show off the detail I think.
