For the start of fall, I decided last month to allow myself one new sweater, but it had to be very different from my current collection, which tends to be more fitted and classic (I later edge my sweater looks up with toppers, accessories and boots), and in shades of blue, green, or sometimes red. This one was a total wild card and I’m not sure I ever would have tried it on, but for the urging of my favorite SA at a local boutique.

It may not be everyone’s cuppa — I wasn’t even sure it was mine! — but I love it. It’s not conventional flattering but I think I find it JFE styled this way. I like that it’s oversized and relaxed (the element of “chill” recently discussed), and the fringe side adds asymmetry, which I find more flattering on me than a straight-across horizontal hem. It’s a pleasant light weight despite being chunky. I kept it simple with a black tee underneath, old Pilcro boyfriend jeans, black suede lug-soles boots, and my secondhand Gucci bag with a $10 guitar strap from Amazon. :-D. I chose earrings and ring to pick up the caramel color in the sweater — not a frequently worn color for me, but I do like it in a combination with black and cream.
