#1-4 It's a cold day here, and I am resting at home after a few hectic days. What better time to clomp around the house in my new boots and break them in gently? Angie, please note the sheer hose. I don't know if I've ever put nylons on to stay at home before. History is made once again, and you are responsible. ;o) As per normal, the various layers are getting peeled off and reapplied as the day goes on, so all these iterations have made their appearance at one point or another. My daughter stopped by briefly, but other than that, I don't expect to see anyone, so this is almost like a dress rehearsal. The tunic blouse is getting big, but it's white :o) and it stretches, which means it's following me down fairly nicely. I'll squeeze as much wear out of it as I can.
#5 I tried the outfit with a more fitted jacket, just to make Angie happy. I feel stupid wearing a blazer around the house though (maybe I should get over that, I don't know) so I didn't wear it any longer than the picture. Do you think it works with a tunic-length blouse? I am ordering a fantastic Van Gogh scarf, which will marry taupes and blues absolutely wonderfully.
#6-9 I was feeling a wee bit rebellious yesterday and wore the top that gets little love on YLF. I felt good anyway. (Look Ma, my first semi-tuck!) I know the colour isn't my best, and that the top is past its prime, but it is so cute. And the grandkids didn't care. ;o) Busy day, feeding three kids under 3 and their parents, but fun was had by all. I wasn't going to take pictures at all, but relented at the end of the day, which explains the bad colour quality. My apologies. I put my teal-green (I really don't know what to call that colour: like teal blue, but tilted more to green) cardigan on over it, mainly because the neckline frames the crochet detailing so perfectly, and the chameleon scarf that seems to match every colour combination I can throw at it. Besides, combining seemingly incompatible colours is all the rage, judging from the outfits I see in the advertising that walks through my door. I do prefer to add a scarf that contains both colours, when possible, because I am a little anal about colour coordination.
It should be pretty obvious that I am rather sensitive to temperature variations, which is perhaps why I wear scarves so often. I pretty well always plan my outfits with removable items that allow me to fine-tune my comfort during the day.
