WIW - Bond Girl Inspired & Request for haircut suggestions...

Well, here's what I wore to work today. I've been thinking about this outfit for a long time. Natalie's Bombshell thread got me thinking about bombshell style and I figured now was the time to go for this outfit. The skirt sits a bit below my natural waist and the top is a bit relaxed, so it's not a full-on nuclear bomb, but I think the basic elements are there. Feel free to disagree! Defining my style is something I will be working on for the next little while.

#1: The inspiration is a look worn by Naomie Harris A Miss Moneypenny in Skyfall. As soon as I saw this look in the theater I knew I wanted to copy it. They aren't in the picture, but she is wearing a pair of black booties.

#2-4: My loose interpretation. The elements I like from this look are the tucked-in relaxed top + pencil skirt + bootie, so tI wore...

I've layered a black tee under the chiffon top and wore a black cardigan for part of the day since work was a bit chilly.

I have been looking for a tipped blouse like the inspiration picture and had no luck thus far... I've tried a couple that were very close style-wise, but they just didn't fit quite right. It took me forever to find a pair of black booties to my liking, too, but I really like the Rockports!

What do you think? What should I add/change?

And on another note, I am way overdue for a haircut. - any ideas? I kind of like it long, but am considering bangs, maybe.

I love your interpretation! It looks fantastic. Definitely 100% as good as the original. I'd also love to see it with a lighter tank (maybe light gray or even white) under the chiffon top and a dark belt over the pencil skirt to highlight the contrast between the top and the skirt. In the inspiration, I love that the light shirt is contrasted with the bold and slightly muted color of the skirt. Your skirt has that same bold/muted bit going on.

I love your outfit more. There is something soothing and calming about teal an charcoal gray. Like Deborah, I like it more without the sweater because the blouse is beautiful and deserves to be shown off. The booties by the way are killer!

Well i like long hair cut with a v long french and a bit of shaping round the edges, a bit below shoulder so you can put it up but it still looks nice out...

Gorgeous! I think this is one of your best yet. The skirt fits you beautifully and I love the colour for you. (No, the truth is, I love the colour, period! But it looks especially good on you.) I love the textural interest of your top. Yes, you will also look great in a top similar to the one in the pic, but this is a terrific variation. Love the booties, too. By the way, have you tried this skirt with the houndstooth jacket?

I didn't answer your haircut question. I do think a change of haircut could be fun. Have you had bangs before?

Love the combo, especially without the jacket. I second the idea of choosing perhaps a grey tank or cami. I love these kinds of blouses with pencil skirts. It ramps up the femininity, keeps the bombshell in check and provides softness to balance the structure of the skirt. GORGEOUS color.

As for your hair, I think more shaping near the face would be terrific.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, all The top is actually a black and white print, but it does read charcoal sometimes due to lighting/sheerness. I will definitely try it with a grey or white tank to brighten the look.

Hair wise, I am thinking either a long fringe (as per jenanded) or more layers in front. I have had bangs in the past and liked them... we'll see

I agree, It would be such a shame to cut your hair. It looks adorable.

Why not simply try soft waves or just a couple of spiral curls for a different effect?

I think this outfit really suits you and qualifies as bombshell. The only thing I would change is I think a leather jacket would look really great as opposed to the cardigan. For your hair, I think just going a little shorter--around shoulder length or slightly below would be a bit more swingy but show off your sleek, shiny hair.

This outfit is smashing on you Emily - I love the mix of the soft grey in the blouse with that teal/turquoise skirt, which fits you like it was made for you! I actually like the dark tee underneath the blouse - I find it a wee bit edgy. The booties are delicious. I love your style!

I really like the idea of a longer fringe and some front layering - it would frame your beautiful face!
