This has been a weather challenged week, since the end of my no jeans challenge (I went through Monday.)

1. This was yesterday. I needed to wear layers as I had allergy shots. I remembered that I needed layers last minute and had to scrap my original plans. I had wanted to wear a blazer and tee outfit in the coming week or so, but I just grabbed a tee. I love this one, but I realized that the collar was a bit floppy and it was a bit clingy. I didn’t love this tee under this blazer. I’d pair it with something else. This outfit also reaky needed a necklace, which I realized too late. Ah well, I did have to get up early. I did wear my new blue booties - LOVE.

2. This is today. It’s going to rain a lot, but will be warmer than usual. I’m seeing a Broadway play and going to a fancy dinner - gift from the in laws. I wanted to wear a dress anyway, so I paired this new shift with waterproof booties. I am pleased with the results. I’d like this even better with the blue booties but they are suede. The shift replaces a shift I’d had for years that needed to be purged.

3. Very warm sweater on one of the colder days this week. The sweater is fun and did the heavy lifting for the outfit.

4. Blue moto sweater, bootcuts and blue booties. Not quite a column of color, but I was in Shades of Blue.

5. Fun popover and sweater. I mostly wanted to be comfy that day. This fit the bill.

I took a stab at collecting my essentials but I’m still struggling with the concept. They’re also all navy or black, except for a few grey pieces. That’s because I like bright/deep color and pattern but not all over. I’m also more comfortable in dark bottoms and have an earlier time finding them. These outfits demonstrate this. I may think about essentials more and post next week. I believe they have changed over the past year, which is why I’m struggling.

That said, I’ve been seeking out red and pinks and have had some success,
including the shift in this post. I’ll probably wear some of that for the Valentine’s Day festivities next week.
