Today's outfit was inspired by this stunning one Angie posted a couple of weeks ago:

I have substituted her silver oxfords for my new silver wedge Ash sneakers, and even though I own plain white jeans, I chose the Rag&Bone split skinnies instead. Though I think of them as of tuxedo skinnies, the sneakers made the whole effect much more sporty and they looked like racer attire. I opted for a longer black tunic sweater instead of Angie's shorter navy, as the jeans are super tight (they are advertised as jeans leggings) and for their first outing to the lab I wanted to tone them down a bit.
My outfit did attract some attention in the lab, but surprisingly it was positive! Some of the commenterss said I looked like an "Olympian" or an "astronaut". It looks like challenging the norm might be OK as long it is on the sporty side as opposed to dressier side. Food for thought, I am considering getting some trendier sporty pieces now.
