Yesterday, I had to go shopping. With a very clear objective : I needed a weatherproof horse riding winter jacket for a two day trail ride in the snow.

But since it was the first sunny day for a while, my MIL suggested we went for a short walk in town first. We ended up spending the whole afternoon in town, chatting and (not only window-)shopping.

Photos #1 and #2 show what I wore : dark wash bootcut jeans and simple black top, with the light pink floral cardigan I had not really successfully managed to style in a previous WIW. I accessorized with small gold earrings, a gold tassel necklace and my army green bag. And, of course, my reliable black booties (very comfortable despite the heel height).
I felt great in this outfit, even if it was hidden under a coat. I found it rather casual, but pretty enough to be worn for work a next time.

Photos #3 and #4 show the first item I bought - as you can notice, not really the warm horse riding jacket I was looking for.
I always find it hard to find flattering, classy blouses for my shape : they are generally too tight for my hips and too wide for my waist. This one was pretty, of great quality (made in Italy!), and on sale (-65%!) : of course, it followed me home.
What do you think about it?

Photo #5 shows an experimental outfit with the second item I bought : a long olive tassel necklace. My MIL chose the same one in dark blue. Still completely unrelated to winter jackets though.
I tried it with bootcut jeans, a camel/white striped top, and my beloved sage green blazer.
I liked the result, and could think of many other ways of styling this necklace. Olive green is my favourite neutral color after all.

At the end of the day we went back home, had a tea, went on chatting...and I ended up going to the equestrian gear shop not so long before its closing time.
Photo #6 shows my new down jacket, with softshell breeches and Dubarry country boots. What I will wear next week for the trail ride, minus the gloves, helmet and sunglasses.
Not a stylish look (and not intended to be), but I thought it would be fun to share it with you since it features the same boots I had previously styled in a workwear WIW, and in a casual WIW. Probably the most versatile item I've ever found.

Thank you very much for having taken the time to read and look! Thoughts and ideas are welcome.
