WIW - A Scarf -Take 2

So I am trying a scarf again today. My earlier post, suggestions were made for placement so I hope this is somewhat better. I am still not overly confident wearing them but the more I do the more I like the look.

sweater - H & M
jeans - JC Penny
booties - Bronx
scarf -Etsy

Love this combo of colors! The colors in the scarf play well with the color of your top and jeans. Scarf placement and tying is tricky. Kudos to you for continuing to work at it. I'm thinking that a different knot is needed for this particular look.

Here are some pics and a video tutorial for a simple one that you can try. See how you like this particular knot with the scarf and top you're wearing. The scarf doesn't have to be super bulky for it to work.

Jewell, is this better? The video said it help bulky scarves lay flat. Maybe my scarf is not bulky enough for this tie.

I really like this on you and I don't know why. I didn't think I was going to looking at the thumbnail, but after expanding the photo I think it is a good look. I agree with Ceit as well, your hair looks great.

Love the second one...great job! Do you know the trick of taking a scarf from one corner and letting it fall on the diagonal before you start the tie? That is another way to slim a bulky one (although yours doesn't look bulky), add some extra length, and supposedly having points instead of blunt ends is slimming. Last point is funny to me, but the first two are legit.

Weren't you going to an accessories workshop with the Already Pretty blogger? Then I read that she had changed the focus to scarves, so I was happy for you! Was that you?

Yes, Deb...I love the second knot! It lies just right on your top. Perfection! And I've found it to be a good knot for both bulky and not-so-bulky scarves.

I like the second way you've tied this scarf and I think you have the stature to wear a much longer scarf to good effect.

Yes! I too love the way you tied the scarf (and the drape) in the second photo, Deb. And all the blues look great with your darker sweater, and they pick up the blue in your jeans. Clever!

Great job on the second knot! I applaud you for doing this. I am so lazy I just sort of throw them on any old way, which might account for the fact that they have been annoying me. You look great in the second version.

The second knot is perfect for a light weight wool scarf. I am wearing one myself today. It's almost like a soft necklace keeping my giraffe neck warm.
