WIW - a roundup, saving the best for last

I figured I'd post a handful of WIW photos at once. These are from the last two weeks.

Photos 1, 2, 3 & 4 include new purchases from Anthropologie. New shirts in 1, 2/3 and new dress in 4. The off-white shirt in 2/3 got longer when I washed it. It was still comfortable, just a little more tunic-length than it started. These are outfits that I wore to clinic.

Photo 5: New Sexy BF jeans and a tank top, worn to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. A college kid hit on me. Sadly, he prefaced his come-on with "Ma'am". Does that make it not count?

Photos 6/7 and 8 are more clinic outfits. We had cool weather on Tuesday, and back to summer temps on Wednesday (photo 8). I loved the combination of the purple top with green graphic-print skirt. The peeptoe pumps are a new find from The Rack.

Photo 9 shows the new Anthro dress again. I wore it like this for running errands downtown. It was great for our 80 degree day!

Photos 10 & 11 show my new BCBG dress, which I wore to take my bestie out for a "Ladies Who Lunch" birthday celebration. This dress is my New Favorite Thing!

I like 6/7, but there's some optical illusion things going on there...

So funny about the college kid! Actually, I think the ma'am makes it counts even more. And so strange about the shirt getting longer. I don't think I've ever heard of that before.

A lot of good outfits going on here. #8 really made me smile, in a good way.

yeah, I can see why that last dress is your new fave. Fabulous! I love the springlike skirt in 8 as well.

That dress is KILLER. It's all good, what I like most of the set is how you really know your color palette. I also like the swinginess of the skirts. Maybe that's an odd thing to notice and like.

@ rachylou - The outfit in 6/7 was really hard to capture in a photo. Suffice to say that it looks MUCH better in real life than it does on a screen. One of my coworkers exclaimed that it was one of her favorite outfits ever. It wasn't *my* favorite ever, BUT it did look good...in person. lol

@ JR - The shirt that grew in length is rayon and I didn't realize it suggested dry clean only until after I'd washed it (gentle, cold water, laid flat to dry). That's probably what did it.

@ shiny - I love swingy skirts, so I don't think that's a strange thing to notice at all!

@ citygirldc - There's a similar dress in blues & greens at my downtown Nordstrom in the sale section. I'm not sure if this version is a late summer/early fall one, but it ended up being on sale, as well. That was a nice surprise for me!

@ Lynn D. - No, the dress hasn't been altered. I was delighted to find that it had enough waist-shaping to flatter my figure without needed any adjustments. I do find that wearing shoes with a platform helps to ensure that the back of the skirt doesn't drag, but I'm not planning on changing a thing.

I feel "comfortable and happy", as Suz suggests, and I'm really glad that it shows. I've been working really hard on regaining my health and fitness after last year's emergency surgery and subsequent recuperation, followed immediately by starting midwifery school. Looking good in a great dress certainly helps keep me motivated!
