WIW - A bevy of boots (2 anyway)

Thanks to all who tolerated my boot obsession over the weekend. I have two outfits with boots.

I think I have been creating a challenge for Tony. Apparently I am difficult to buy gifts for because I have everything I want. I mentioned yesterday morning that I am thinking about getting a new camera and the next thing I knew we he had one picked out and ordered for pick-up. It is wifi capable so I don't need to hook up cables to download pics. Friday is the old camera and today is the new one. Both have boots. LOL

#1/2 is from Friday. I had at least 5 compliments at work on the dress and all from women. I like the dress a lot and it is super comfy. I might have looked a bit seasonally confused though since I had bare legs and tall boots. I bought these tall boots last year and they are VERY comfortable. The cobalt coat is my Sveta twin coat.

#3 today. The general consensus was that these boots are not dated but outfits were requested. I changed enough times that I was late for work. I find it hard to find anything to wear with skinnies. I love the color of these pants so I will try again. My goal today was to add weight to the bottom with the boots to balance out the hip and shoulder. Not sure it it worked.

Sweater: BR faux leather front
Pants: Nygard skinny (I bought them before I researched the owner)
Boots: Miz Mooz that I've had for years.

The boots have only been worn a few times. They are a bit loose but I picked up a pair of heavy socks on the weekend and it worked. They were very comfortable.

So, hit or miss? Suggestions always welcome.

Yay, outfits for your boots! I don't think #1 comes across as seasonally confused because your bare knees don't even show standing up! Great dress, and even better that it's comfortable. I love the outfit with the burgundy skinnies. The boots look great and add weight to the bottom. Okay, so I don't know much about OTK boots, but I like both of these!

Dianthus, my favorite look is pic 1/2. I can hardly see your bare legs because only a bit of your knee shows in pic 2. I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't mention it and even then I had to go back and use my eagle eye and a magnifying glass! Maybe I need readers on top of my bifocals! In any case, IMO it doesn't read as seasonally confused. If you live where I do, the seasons are currently confused and seem to have forgotten that it's October

Cheryl, every time I see you in tall boots I want to swoon. Seriously, you make Equestrienne look SO easy and so fantastic! You were made for it.

I love, love, love you in the dress in #1. Aren't those Kamalikulture dresses fab? This one is brilliant on you and I am not surprised it won compliments. I do not think this outfit is seasonally confused in the least. The skin on your legs is echoed by the skin on your forearms. Now, you know, I am Queen Fusspot about seasonal confusion, so if I do not think there is a problem, there is no problem. And that is all there is to say.

#2 is equally sensational in my mind. I think the boots balance your light top perfectly. And they also bookend your hair. Gorgeous!

Love the dress - no wonder you rec'd so many compliments. The pattern just lights you up! I hear you about skinnies, footwear can be so awkward with this kind of pant- like your boot solution!

Claire, these boots are just to the knee on me. I have two pairs of OTK boots and haven't worn them this year. One is a black pair similar to the brown in this post but taller and with a bit lower heel. Perhaps I will wear them later this week with ponte pants and my Una plaid shirt.

Suz, yes, the dress is very easy to wear but I have to admit I dragged out the spanx to smooth out the hip area a bit.

Merwoman, I didn't want to make a fuss about my 50th birthday (two ago) so we did nothing. He somehow thinks that wasn't right. Silly man.

I do think the heavy boot helped with the skinny pant look. I felt it balanced me out a bit. Perhaps the lighter top helped too. I will try other looks over the next few weeks and see how it goes. It is an easy outfit to wear and works for our cold weather. I prefer to not have to change shoes if I can figure out a way to keep warm in heavier non-winter boots.

I am loving you in that dress - especially topped with the cobalt jacket - wow! Boots look good too - the peek of skin doesn't read seasonally confused at all. I like the second outfit too, I don't know that you need "balancing" - maybe it looks perfectly balanced so mission accomplished

These outfits are both fab on you Dianthus - the dress is just gorgeous. You look so tall and lean in this ensemble. And I adore the skinnies tucked into the boots. IMHO that's a look that will always look fantastic on you.
