WIW - 6/4, lightening up.

One of my fashion goals this year is to lighten things up. I bought my first pair of white jeans and am now working out the styling. I learned today that white jeans don't work well for dog walking on rainy days. I hope muddy paw prints come out! I guess I will stick to wearing them on sunny days. Do you stick to good weather for your white jeans? One of my next style goals is edgier footwear. What do you think? Sorry for poor pic....I was running out the door.

My husband thinks I'm crazy to have white jeans and a white down winter coat. But I, like you, wanted to lighten things up. Having said that, white takes more upkeep. That down jacket is in the wash at least once a month in winter. And those white jeans? Well, they are no longer pristine as I got some balsamic vinegar on them and it won't come out no matter what I do!

Thumbs up for the outfit. Very light, bright and fresh. Hope you have better luck getting out doggie's paw prints!

Great summer outfit! I like the fluid fit of the shirt.

I definitely save my white jeans for sunny days. I'm lucky if I don't get something on them on a good day, why up my chances?

Hello, fellow white jeans newbie! Well, mine are still on the shopping list, but I plan to pull the trigger soon. It seems like every other day I look at a shirt in my closet and think white jeans would be the perfect thing with it.

I really like how you've styled yours. Blue and white is always a winner, and your belt and sandals look great together.

Try OxyClean maybe? I add that to my white washes and it does help. I also have some kind of stain-remover gel that I haven't tried yet...

I confess though that I am not going "there" with white bottoms even though they look good on people-who-are-not-me. And I agree with Windchime on the combo with belt and sandals.

Super duper. Nice uber casual styling.

I wear white jeans year round - in dirty and wet Seattle. It's absolutely fine. When we had doggies, I got paw prints on my white jeans occasionally. A little Tide To Go and Bob's your Uncle. I have many pairs of white jeans - so they never bottle neck in the laundry.

Great light look! Would also look fab with a silver or gold belt. If I saved my white for non-rainy days I'd never get to wear it I use Oxyclean and launder more often than I would other things. If anything gets on them, they get popped in the wash right away.

Angie - Thanks! Your comments make me feel less worried about wearing these jeans out in the weather. I will just arm myself with some Tide to Go!

Great outfit! I love the fluid top with the white jeans. I wear my white jeans year round, and I'll wear them in the snow or rain IF I'm not going to be out in it long - like just going to and from the car. However, I did get a mud stain on my white jeans getting in a friend's truck. It's at the very bottom of the right leg and has faded but won't entirely come out, even with bleach or Oxiclean.
