WIW - 4 from the past month

Here are a few photos from the past month.

1 - I love the simplicity of this outfit - dark cropped jeans and cute white blouse. Sadly, this was the end of the white blouse as it ripped irreparably.

2 - what I wore to church earlier that day.

3 - I'm always on the verge of purging this top. The style looks a bit dated t ome, but I LOVE the bright orange colors in the print. What do you think? Same pants as 1... can you tell I have some current wardrobe favorites?

4 - church outfit this past Sunday. Brand new skirt fresh off the sewing machine, and the top is a fairly recent purchase from White House Black Market, which I've worn here before.

Comments and suggestions for improvement are always appreciated.

Sorry about the ripped blouse, Jenny Anne, but your new one is a stellar replacement I think --- so sophisticated, with that pretty sheen.

And like Shannon, I adore both your skirts. You're very talented, you know. I especially love the cool soft tones of that last one --- so crisp and dreamy at the same time.

I particularly like #4. The skirt is beautiful (lovely choice of material) and the lines seem to fall in just the right places.

I think 2, 3, and 4 work the best on you. You look very pretty.

In #1, I feel the high contrast white top(s) end at the widest part of your hips, making you look wider in the hips than I think you are. When you compare this to #3, where the top ends higher and is not quite as high contrast in color, you look more balanced or even a bit IT. Hope I'm not coming off too harshly.

I always love your clean, classic style. I agree, the replacement white top is great. I like the orange top but the black contrast seems a little wintery and over-contrasty (maybe there's darker colors in the print up close but it's hard to see in a photo), and I wonder if the length should be a bit longer to wear with pants...

Sorry to hear about the ripping of the old top but the replacement one is great. My favorite outfit is #4. That skirt is beautiful - you are a talented seamstress and you found such pretty fabric.

I, too, adore the skirt in 4, and the whole outfit is really beautifully styled. I love your church look, also. Have you tried this with a nude or lighter neutral shoe? I love the black shoes, but somehow I can just see a neutral shoe bookending your hair so nicely. As for #3 -- this top might seem a little "newer" to you worn with a skirt. Perhaps a pencil, which would make the outfit read a little more like a chongsam, or a skirt with a simple color, but a little volume.

I love both the skirt outfits. Can the last blouse be used with the first skirt going forward? I would love to see lighter shoes with #2, but the straps are small enough it's not too overpowering.
